Tesla Model X 2023 HW4 Black 15K Milage Branded Title $45K Worth it

Resale on EVs is horrible under the best of circumstances, I can’t imagine how bad it’s going to be with a branded title. Especially if you don’t plan on driving this car until the wheels fall off. That’s assuming you have no problems with the vehicle and can keep it a long time. On most ICE vehicles, a branded title is a 40% to 60% reduction in value, vs a similar vehicle with a clean title.

From a pure resale value perspective, (not taking into account any potential problems the car may have in future), you’re going to lose your A$$ on this car unless you can keep it until it literally has no value left.

i am not a proformance type of a guy thats why i am selling my YP (also becuse i can make money on it) the only reason i am considering the X is becuse they way it ride the Air suspension, the huge glass roof the amazing sound , the whole atmospher , on my YP i am driving on chill mode :joy:

ok let say i will keep it lets say 5-7 years whatever i am going to lose will basicly be what i would pay to lease a regular model Y , if the car has no issues, beside the resale value what else could go wrong

“IF” i decide to buy this is what i am planing to do , i had a brand new Lexus RX330 purchased in 2004, i ride till my wife took over and almost killed it , i sold it to autotrader for $2800 the when they came to pick up i had to boot the battrey :joy: i know with tesla probobly i will be tempted to go for the new styles , i always can give it to my wife (her Tsla Model Y RWD 2025 lease will be over in december 27 she definlty ride it till it dies :joy:

Here’s a question for you…

Have you taken the specific VIN of that car and made sure you can even insure it?
You’re going to do what you want to do as you should with your own money but at least do your due dilligence.

Plug the VIN and all the info into Carvana for a quote to get a reality check on what it is really worth. They might have to do a manual appraisal due to the branded title, but it will be worth it.

@li8625 come get your little bro
Or this your burner ???

Internet stranger suggests setting yourself financial goals to be able to get to a point and affording it comfortably. This branded Tesla feels like a long stretch and you may be throwing good money after bad.

Teslas are not something you can take to a mom/pop shop to fix, warranty or not. If you’re adventurous, have time and know your way around electronics/high-voltage, I’d say knock yourself out. But as suggested above, a lot more due diligence needed. If I were you, I’d even hit up the Tesla forums.

Good luck!

For that price point, plenty of 2022-2023 BMW iX 50 with air suspension. I will also add Genesis GV70 electrified or Lexus RZ450 if the range works for u.

I actually thought @mani_is_kool was being sarcastic, but good idea to provide advice in an unironic way, as well.

BTW OP will get this Tesla X no matter what we say…

I was in the same, legacy 2025 Y-P and just sold it for $41,100 (Paid $38,893 OTD) Saving $640/mo and a $7K “equity” check, driving my Mirai that’s been “sitting” with occasional driving for first 3 years with FREE fuel for another 3 yrs after 3 years will see what I do, may go back to another TESLA as I like the Tech and cheap operational/charging expenses. Market is HOT now for used Teslas but who knows how long it lasts… Carvana dropped my offer after I sold it to $39K and now it’s $39,200 as of yesterday…ups and downs timing is everything.
OP has a FOMO and wants it NOW, no matter what we/they suggest he will end up in an X, Enjoy it and the only reason you wouldn’t want this is the resale values are unpredictable.

i will test drive it this weekend , and see what my got feelings tels me , but now i am leaning not to buy it
Thanks :folded_hands:

There has not been one person in this forum who thinks this is a good idea, and yet, you’re going to go buy this car anyway.

Why did you even ask for advice in the first place?

Spelling and grammar jfc.

There’s no point test driving it if it makes no sense to do the deal. You’re just gonna get suckered into it. You’ve already driven the car, you know what it’s like. It would only make sense to test drive it if you were serious about doing the deal.

as everyone says, this is a dumb deal and of course the current owner will tell you there are no problems.
