Tesla Model 3 wait times slashed

They will have to raise additional capital, that’s totally an operating assumption I would make if researching the stock.

Not according to Musk. And we all know how rock solid his promises are.

Well Musk has been throwing away cash at SpaceX, dunno if he has any to spare for Tesla anymore.

He needs to launch another car into space, that will show that they have enough cash to be a great car company.

That will be the Model Y unveil! Simply rolling it onto a stage won’t be good enough for blimp-head Elon.

By the time they make it, the EV tax rebate on Tesla will have run out

For anyone pining for one of these, isn’t it a no-brainer to take a $50K model NOW for 42.5 effective, rather than pay 35k sticker at some TBD date way in the future?

That’s exactly what Musk and Co are hoping for (and rightly so)

I think the plan was to get a base model AND the tax credit. When the model 3 was announced, some states also had extra tax credit which could be stacked. Of course, people realized that they weren’t getting a base model soon after the model 3 actually started going into production. My dad had a pre order but cancelled it.

Yeah I realize that was the original plan for many but it’s been obvious for a while that that has become an impossibility. People like your dad rightfully took their deposits back.

In July 2018, IDK how anyone still holding on to their deposits can balk at 50% off on 15,000 worth of options (knowing their base model is TBD at best). Get one now or don’t get one at all IMO.

It’s shady and dishonest, he sold everyone a bill of goods. At least on their website when you go to order one it’s not an option. They sure like to ding for the metallic paint, $1k.

It’s like with any hand-made product - you pay more

And, as a bonus, you need to get the car reshot at the service center once you take delivery due to paint runs.

Actually, it is a bit more restricting. Anything non-black is $1000-$1500 extra. So all based $35K car will be the same color (black).

You mean the cars that’s don’t exist?

Yes, I start to think it will never be a $35k car. By the time a base model is ready to be made, price will increase. Musk will give whatever reason he can dream up with. Fanboy will still support him

I don’t agree. Media will eat him alive if he doesn’t deliver at least ONE 35k car.

He will do $35,000 + delivery charge ($1,050) + tax for cars built initially.

He will then do a $1k increase every 6-12 months till it hits $40,000 base price.

Husband was a skeptic, but then got converted.
