Tesla bankruptcy?

Thing is it’s not even a simple renegotiation for future pricing. Tesla wants these suppliers to change existing terms and retroactively refund them money from as far back as 2016! WTF
That’d be like me having a house built by a builder, then 2 years later asking for a refund of a portion of the house cost. Who does that? Except a company in severe financial peril.

Oh sh*t, I bought some TVs, computers and gaming consoles 10 years ago. For those spec, adjusted cost to make today, most should be close to free. I should have ask for some money back too.

Tesla approached a friend of mine as a supplier and would only offer to pay below cost for each unit, but they said the upside is that you can claim ‘Tesla is one of my customer’.

Remember how superior Tesla is compared to regular car manufacturers because Tesla doesn’t have “dealerships”? Whoops!

Glad to hear that Elon has ceased to post controversial stuff on Twitter after the “pedo guy” debacle.
Oh wait.

Didn’t Trump do this once too?

Musk is following “The Art of the Deal” playbook. If you don’t pay attention to the twitter handle, you can’t tell them apart.

Evidently a Model 3 is going to cost nearly double to insure as compared to similar sized cars.

For the Model 3, the result is tragically high premiums. A recent study conducted by Gabi Personal Insurance Agency Inc. and posted by Automotive News shows the EV’s average insurance cost across 150 ZIP codes is $2,814 per year. That’s $35 less than the cost of insuring a Porsche 911, using the same metrics.

I pay 800 less for (2) 1 year old cars, a beater for my son and a play toy I’m tinkering on than 1 model 3.

To be fair, that’s average, so if you look hard enough, you can probably get it cheaper. Even so…that’s a hefty price.

Per the article, the insurance industry has re-aligned the risk premiums on Model 3’s this year resulting in 30 percent insurance increases (or so).

he’s definitely one strange bird…

Nice power numbers, but 200mi of range? :man_facepalming:

Speculation from my end, but I think the EQC is supposed to be a class-size smaller compared to the Model X. Smaller body means less places to put batteries which means shorter range. If Mercedes Benz made an electric model closer to the size of the Model X (would be between the GLE and GLS) they could probably squeeze in enough batteries to match the Model X range.

The floodgates are starting to open…

They certainly have no issue with demand. Model 3 outsold all BMW passenger cars combined (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, X1, X2, i3, i8, and Z4) in the US last month. If you include the full model range, Tesla as a brand nearly tied BMW as a brand (including light trucks like the X3, X4, X5, and X6) in the US last month in sales.

Even more reason for Tesla to start offering their own car insurance that Elon Musk proposed.

Get away from these loser insurance companies and their ridiculous ratings.
