Tax on gov incentives - E-tron in CA

Hi folks - I leased an E-tron prestige in early April in CA. Got a decent deal but was wandering if it’s correct to be taxed on the gov incentives. I believe the total tax was $1800 which I paid upfront. Thanks for any input.

All the incentives are taxable. For a P+ MSRP ~78k with $18k incentives and 7.75% tax, the upfront taxes are around $1500
