Tax Credit: Buy before end of year, but don't pay taxes and register until next year?

I purchased a Rav4 Prime out of state and they are sending the paperwork from their DMV to me. They didn’t collect tax, so I probably won’t receive the paperwork until Jan. 2022. Will I still be able to apply for the tax credit and state tax credits on 2021 taxes or will I have to wait until next years’ taxes?

Some state credits dont apply if you buy from out of state, just an fyi

I believe it goes off of contract date.

Where’d you get it? Have been trying hard to line one up at MSRP for the last couple of months.
