Wondering if anybody here has had experience with taking over a lease from somebody else? I am looking into it because you can seem to find some good deals.
My main question is, how come there are so many good deals on there? I’ve been looking for an Audi S3 and the best leases I can get from a dealership are around the 600ish+ mark but on swap a lease I’ve found stuff from the mid 400s upwards. I found an M3 for 600 too. It makes me question the legitimacy of these deals but they must be legit, right?
Sometimes people put cash down, or have an employee benefit, or just got a killer deal and post them up. Sometimes people incentivize to get rid of the car, I spoke with a guy trying to offload a C43 and he was putting up $10k to make the monthly lease more attractive. Often times though, people are looking for deposits back or payments and the listing is just poorly worded.
Doesn’t one (or more than one?) of those sites require YOU to register and pay $$ just to contact the people behind the ads? That smelled like Ashley Madison-level BS.
While I don’t have experience taking over a lease, I unloaded my lease on swapalease and it was a fairly straight forward and smooth process. All swapalease does is link people, the actual work is done by the leasing company.
And yes, there are great deals there. I, for example, had an amazing deal. I had a buddy who worked at a Maserati dealership and he got me into a Quattroporte (MSRP north of $110K) for less than $700/month on a “friend and family” deal. The person who took over my lease was of course thrilled…
I took over a lease i3 lease from someone that seemed too good to be true and it worked out great. And yeah all Swapalease did was connect us. I did everything through BMW. The guy I dealt with was awesome.
