Looking for some advice in regards to options with my lease on a 2020 Subaru Outback Premium.
Relevant Details:
- Lease ends January 2023
- $325 monthly payment
- Current buyout price is $19,100
- End of lease buyout is $17,200
- Currently selling online for $28,000 - $31,000
So, I like the car and my first instinct is to buy it out at the end of the lease. I will need to finance the purchase, however, and it occurred to me that interest rates might rise considerably in the next 6 months. If so, would it make sense to get financing now and buy it this summer?
I also noticed that in my area there are current base Outback lease specials in the $250 a month range with $2,500 down. This seems hard to believe given the current market conditions. What am I missing? At those numbers, it would seem reasonable for me to get into the 2022 Subaru Outback Premium with the same payment and a check for the 2020 Outback.
Can someone please offer me their advice on what they would do in my position and tell me if I am just missing something completely.
