Sold to GiveMeTheVin.com (aka GMTV): Reviews

I have sold many cars in my time. (CarMax, Bidlane, Carvanna, Vroom, Bidbus….) NEVER have I ever gotten a reasonable quote from GMTV. Complete waste of time.

GMTV is saying they will buy out bmw lease under my name…does that mean I will be in the hook for the taxes too?

In CA, so I need to know- do I get hit for the taxes on buyout price of $33k?

All other offers from driveway and Autonation are about 2k less than offer from GMTV, but taxes will be more than $2k if I will be in the hook.

Does a 10 day sale exclusion apply in this case?

Sold my 21 4Runner 70k miles. GMTV first offered 32.5, I countered 33.5. They accepted. CarMax 29. Drop off was pretty easy. Picked up the check, and they got me an Uber to get home.

for a while, GMTV was paying out the highest. Is that still the case or have other companies emerged that are paying better?

Market has shifted but anything Toyota I brought to gmtv, they offered better offers and I sold our 2024 4Runner here. This was not the case with our 2022 jeep gc4xe, way under market value.

Usually got to get a quote from them all and see who’s best. Wouldn’t classify any as paying highest currently

What did they offer you for your 4Runner?

I was super skeptical about if these guys would pay up given that I had to drop of my Jeep GC at a manhiem auction and wait 5 days for an inspection, just to know if the car would be paid out. Turns out they did pay up. They beat CarMax by $1k and most local dealers by at least $4k. Still not a fan of there inspection process but at least their legit. Getting the quote was also easy. I did an inspection at carmax as proof that the car’s condition was excellent. Sent a pic of it over and they beat the price.

GMTV is absolutely legit but their buyers can be pricks, which I can understand at the same time. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with them if the offer made sense. Glad everything worked out for you.

Which it never does these days. They offered me $30K less than MMR and $15k less than the next best offer. Reaching out to them, on higher end cars at least, is a big waste of time.

Yeah but as a seller to them we have no control over this and it seems they have little that they can do to shield you from it. I can imagine that things would get really hairy if the inspection failed and while the car was parked on a lot, it was vandalized. Probably wouldn’t happen for my Overland but easily could have with an SRT

You’re preaching to the choir. I’ve offered dozens of vehicles over the past years and there hasn’t been once where the offer was top. :joy:

It’s business like usual. I don’t fault them. They’re buying cars to flip them quick at auction and hopefully make a few bucks. It is what it is. If it works for the seller great, if it doesn’t that’s fine too.

Same. Did they also give you the third degree as to how or why I have so many cars to sell?

Biz must be slow over at GMTV…

Still waiting for my $100 from June 2023.
