Sold One to ALGo

What do you know, my docs are also stuck in Lawnside, was supposed to be delivered this morning, now showing next day.

Positive is that ALGO is writing a $3375 check when carvana and vroom were consistently at payoff.

Original offer was $30,900 and upon FaceTime walkthrough, they changed to $28,000. They said it was because it’s a new car and very low mileage, there was nothing to compare with and computer had given an arbitrary number originally. I told them I need to be at $29,000 and they didn’t budge. I texted Felix (FaceTime fellow) an hour later at $28,500 and they agreed if I committed that day.

Tried AlGO. Got a higher offer. Even asked them if they allowed CA. They originally said yes, entire US. Then when they got to inspection, they said they do not operate out of CA.

Weird. They purchased my car in CA.

wtf, maybe ill call them again

I sold one to Algo last week. I live in California.

Just called, its because they dont have wholesale dealers in CA so it depends on the car because they have to ship it back to their state

Paperwork finally made it to Algo yesterday and they had everything done on their end same day. Carrier came today and grabbed the car and gave me a check. Process couldn’t have been easier!!

ALGo gave original quote of $18800.

After inspection they offered $17500.

No damage, nothing. Didnt mention anything wrong during the inspection.

I leased a 2019 Acura MDX SH AWD back in October 2019 $430 a month and $500 DAS. I have sold two cars to Vroom before so I checked just for the hell of it and they offered 36,320 and my payoff is 35,978 so I check algo and after inspection I got 36,800. I just accepted the offer and hopefully it will be an easy process. I’m not sure if I should hack another MDX…

I finally decided to sell to ALGo after they decided to increase their offer to me. I was also fed up with Ally so good riddance to them. Their transporter just picked up my truck so I hope Ally gets paid in a reasonable amount of time. Very easy process, very seamless and you can actually talk to a real person.

They’re higher than Carvana for my GC so going to give them a shot. Scheduling an appointment and hopefully they’ll go even higher afterwards. Missed out on 3k because we couldn’t sell it to carvana earlier. Need them to go up $500 to make $3,000. Either way I’ll take it since the market probably won’t go up and it will be nice to get some cash + get out of this lease. My other lease sale to carvana went smoothly so hoping for the same from these guys.

I’ve been waiting for ALgo to fix my contract for over a week. I extended my lease so the payoff amount was off by one payment. I contacted alexus who said they’ll fix it and contacted ALgo who said they’ll contact Lexus to update the contract. However, my next payment would be due today. Do I pay it or just let it get paid off with they buyout the car? I’m only concerned because of how long they’re taking.

Make the payment. Otherwise you’ll be on the hook for late fees. Have ALGo call the bank once the payment posts for an updated payoff quote

I just spoke with ALgo a bit ago and the guy on the phone told me not to pay it. Should I pay it anyways to not risk anything?

I would pay it to be honest. Not worth taking the risk on your credit for couple hundred dollars, which will be refunded to you anyaway.

Just my personal opinion. Better be safe than sorry!

If you sell your leased car and you end up purchasing a car from the same provider (algo/Vroom or whatever)
Can you claim tax reduction in NJ?

Example, you sold your leased car for $25,000
And you purchased a car for $26,000.
Can you get a tax waiver for $25k as you sold your old car?

How does it work?

Another update on my Q3 … I believe I mentioned already that I ended up declining ALgo offer after they told me the payoff was $2K more than I thought, right?

Well, this morning I had some time and a couple of phone calls later to one dealership I’m working with on something else (non-Audi), and one to the dealer down the street where I service the car (Audi). Guess what: both came back with the same number, that is my personal payoff-sales taxes (as I expected.)

Now … either:

  1. ALgo got a different number as they are an online dealer (?), or
  2. They just added $2K to it (their offer was $2K higher than the first one … ) trying to make it up

I called ALgo and told them I found out the payoff was actually different and was wondering what the deal was. The person said he was going to check with accounting to see if maybe they did an accounting mistake … LOL

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for Carvana to call me back and do a 3-way call, at least I’ll know …

My car was picked up tonight by ALGo. My payment to Honda Financial was due last week and ALGo told me not to pay it. So of course I haven’t and it’s now passed due. I assume ALGo takes care of the late payment is it’s probably included in the most recent payoff amount.

They will not report to any credit bureau for one late payment.

For the financials, they offered $25,100. Vroom $24,794. After video inspection I told them about Vroom. They asked if I could do $25,000 and then minus their usual $75 fee. I said yes of course at $24,925.

Everyone has been very nice. Whole process very smooth. As long as the checks cash, they are definitely an A+ outfit. Hope they do well.

If I were you, I would pay Honda Financials whatever that monthly payment was. Not worth risking your credit for a late payment.

yeah you would probably be refunded if you overpaid I assume
