Sold One to ALGo

Completed the sale and I see it online. Msrp was 36.5k, I got 37.5k and they’re selling for 43.5k

Crazy if someone actually buys it for that much!

How long did your buyout from US Bank take if you don’t mine me asking?

My bank just yesterday sent US Bank the buyout check yesterday, this will make my bank the new lien holder, which should now make it much easier to sell.

I faxed over the documents on April 13th and the sale was done by 5th may. I registered the car on 12th, got the title around 20 may and car was sold by 28may, picked up around 3 June
It would have been quicker but I didn’t send a certified check, which I think wasted a week

I am at this step right now. They are supposed to pick up the car. Do they mail me the check before or after that? Are they mailing the check to bank directly or I have to forward it?

Yes at least with Chrysler capital it was

They pay off the lease/finance directly to the bank that owns the car and if there is any extra it’ll come to you via mail

mine is getting picked up friday if all goes to plan. according to the transport person who called me, the driver has two checks, one for me, and one for me to overnight to chase (they bought out my subaru lease).

Bunch of jokers, agree bait and switch. Estimate was $49,300. Did Facetime appraisal and they called back and said estimate was a little high due to lack of comps. Offered $46k, what a waste of time. I’m glad it worked out for some of you, but I’ll be sticking with the tried and true online buyers from now on.

How is it a bait and switch if it specifically says it is an estimate? You wouldn’t be complaining if it worked out in your favor. Bait and switch would be signing a contract and then changing the terms on you at the last second.

I guess it depends on condition of the vehicle other details that weren’t known during first quote because I was able to get $1200 above online quote after videocall

The appraisal should be to evaluate the condition. If everything is perfect, the estimate should be close. At least that is how it’s portrayed. Instead, it is just a random number and you have to waste time doing the video chat to find out they never did any pricing research at all and they actually aren’t even close once they do.

Like I said, glad it worked out for you and some others.

I think all these online companies keep tweaking their pricing algorithms based on various sources of data constantly coming from markets and you can keep checking the waters until you come across a deal that works best.
2 weeks ago carmax made much higher offer and their inspection sites were booked up for weeks ahead while algo made low offer online. Fast forward to now algo made a decent offer and upper their offer after inspection. Try different websites once every couple of weeks and try negotiate. You never know who needs that specific car you have for sale.

Wonder how long they’ll keep paying these prices on used cars. The 2020 Infiniti QX60 I sold to them 2 months ago is still listed for sale on their website for over 44k (more than my purchase or lease capitalized price 2 years ago for brand new!)

Seems like they are holding the bag on it and if the used car bubble how long to stay.

My Focus RS on Carvana is 19.7k, ALgo estimated was 28k. Wish me luck boys!

Same thing happened to my friend. His offer was $50k and they offered him $46k on Facetime. They said it’s not an SUV and they can’t sell it quick. (They knew the car was a 2 door car in the beginning obviously)

What was car you were selling?

I will add, my estimate for mine came with a range, 23600-24600. After the FaceTime, they settled on 23600. I countered higher and they accepted. They really wanted it I guess.

Best part for me was that it turns out the 3rd party buyout was less than what I had been seeing. So it helped things out.

Wrangler Sahara 4XE. 260 miles, obviously perfect. Pre-price increase MSRP of about $52k.

Yup that was what I was afraid of I got the same 49.3k offer on my 53k sticker pre raise. Gonna schedule the virtual walk around. Hopefully no funny business.
