I just leased a loaner GLB, on what I thought was a good deal!!! Sheesh the AMG package makes it look so much better. I acctually like the little truck allot. I didnt think I would like it as much as I do. It’s very spacious on the inside, drives well enough, and is great on gas.

This is a courtesy vehicle with a very high residual. Glad it worked out for you.

What did the dealer actually price the car at? Was it 55k for new (pre-loaner MSRP) or was that the new asking price?

Did you get them down 12,500 in negotiations before 2,500 incentives were added? If so, then that is a 23% reduction for a one year loaner which seems normal to me if MSRP new was 55.

But if the new asking was 55k (not MSRP) then you did a great job.

what I’m saying is…That seems like just an OK deal for a one year old used car worth 55k originally. It’s a GOOD deal if you negotiated them down from 55k to 40k.

But don’t forget this is a used car. Used cars depreciate faster than any other LARGE manufactured good. It’s rare to be able to lease used with decent MF.

That’s why we never buy new here

This whole thing is extremely confusing. I can’t even think of how to word my clarifying questions because of how oddly worded this is. Are you suggesting if they were asking 55k on a loaner thats MSRP was 55k then he did a good job, but if they were asking like 45k and he got them to 40k then it’s not a good job? It makes no sense.

All leases are based off of the original MSRP. They presumably had this listed at X price under MSRP, and he got them down to Y price before the rebates.

What does it matter where they started? All that matters is where he ended up.

Loaner cars are not treated like regular used cars because they can be leased. If they couldn’t be leased, it would just be whatever the market value is for a 2025 GLB250 with low milage, which frankly, isn’t much less than 40k, most of the low mileage 2025 GLB250’s are listed well above 40k. These cars being leasable makes them more valuable.

It almost sounds like you’re suggesting that they should be paying him to lease this car because you believe it’s market value should be lower than what he technically “paid” for it.

Tons of people on this website buy new every day.

If you think 23% off a loaner car is a “normal” deal, I think you may be out of touch with the market, respectfully. It may be normal depreciation for a used car, but loaners are not treated like regular used vehicles.

You clearly have absolutely no grasp on how leasing works. The OP spelled it all out above and even posted the contract and the sticker. Trying to ask sophisticated sounding questions doesn’t really hide ignorance…

Finally, if you think 23% pre-incentive on a GLB (or most other cars for that matter) is run of the mill in today’s market, post a better quote.

Nice job OP. The AMG package makes a world of difference as @Almontevg noted.

Since your buddy is paying roughly 19 cents per mile, you deserve a good Porterhouse at a minimum.

Want to negotiate a deal on an ev for me in the Midwest?? Jokingnotjoking

Please, please, please stop speaking for “us”.

You’ve shown up recently with a lot of really poor and ill advised “advice”. Folks be warned at listening to this guy.

If OPs deal is normal or easy then go grab a few and flip them for a few grand each. It doesn’t matter what discount is expected, once the payment gets to that range it’s very hard to keep it on the line. Could go to anyone within the dealership once they realize what the lease looks like.
