SIGNED! | 2026 Equinox EV LT 1 | One-pay $2216

This was signed the last day in Oct when the $6500 GM rebate was still available.

MSRP: $36955

Sales price: $32996 ($4k discount)

Rebates: $4850, Costco Exec + Conquest + Supplier Code + Some dealer rebate. I didn’t ask GM reward. thus the deprecation is negative.

One-pay total (including 9.875% tax) : $2216.

I tried to adjust fees on calculator to match that 1-pay number, and the leasehackr score is 31.1 years.

BTW: I am in NorCal, and the dealership is in SoCal. They provide free shipping.

(I had considered an LT 1 + Comfort + Safety 2 + AWD, also a Cadillac Optiq. And I didn’t find Optiq that much different than an Equinox unless it’s Luxury2 or Sport2. In the end, I don’t really mind a basic LT 1 trim given this low payment. I may consider lease transferring if I buy a Telsa car or a PHEV car later).

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing!
Just curious, how can you get the sales price discount + the dealer rebate together? I talked to some dealers, and they only provide one of them.

Another is how can you find a SoCal dealer that is willing to privide the free shipping? I am also in NorCal, and would like to learn that you.

Few cars command full MSRP (no dealer discount, before manufacturer incentives).

It’s likely that your main problem is being assessed as a low information shopper, as it’s generally regarded as pointless to just ask a dealer how much they want for a car. You’re virtually always going to get an ugly answer compared to what’s possible.

Key themes to successful car shopping (lots of content here to help): learn how to gather the inputs and calculate a lease payment; learn how to look at others’ deals to create your own target deal; pivot from asking for prices to simply making offers and moving on when you get a no.

(Some of the very best deals you’ll see here also require luck – right time/right place – and there’s a major effort difference between getting the very best deal possible and merely something “great”.)
