What I did for my calculator: I added $899 to selling price and bumped up my RV +1%. Kept Dealer fee at $85 as per CA capped law. Most dealers tried to lower “selling price” by incorporating the dealer marketing allowance when countering offer proposals.
This thoroughly threw my calculations off- and I didn’t get clarification until I was in finance office.
You got a deal on Audicare- 36 months is $1049 normally.
You are right Jon, and one could argue that the AudiCare fee should not be included in the effective payment, which would put the monthly effective payment at $520. What do you think?
You are right about the AudiCare, Calbear. As my lease is only for 7.5K per year at for 3 years, I don’t think I’ll need the 3rd service, so the Finance Manager offered the two service option.
You can go to Edmunds and find the RV and MF of your lease terms and plug it into the LH Calculator or become a Super Supporter and get that information directly from the LH Calculator.
on the LH calculator- just subtract 1% for each increment from the RV. (and change mileage- I think if you change the mileage- it will actually do that for you now. For most Audi’s 36 → 24 months- add +7% to RV. [In SSB-LA case- you need to add 1% to RV for Audi Care]
Most of these q6 deals- 24 and 36 months pretty similar. Since I like new tech, I chose 24 months.
That’s the beauty of learning to use the calucator.
Sorry, this is a phenomenally stupid question. Did you get the dealer to give you $8300 off out of their own pocket, separate from the gov’t (ev credit) or any Audi USA programs?
…if so, how?? I haven’t bought a ton of cars before so other than saying to dealer x “what do you have for me” and then going to dealer y and saying “well, I can get this, can you beat it?”, I have no idea how to do this.
Through work I have access to the 6% partner discount thing, but that seems silly compared to these numbers.
The key to a successful deal is do a thoroughly researched geographic market dive- use Signed and Marketplace broker deals to gauge what’s possible pre-incentive discount.
Know all your facts and figures: RV/buyrate MF and what incentives you are eligble. (become Super Supporter here Rate Findr or get from Edmunds). Put together a time sensitive offer proposal and then reach out to dealer management if possible. Look for email for GM, GSM, or sales manager at least.
Make your shot on a specific in-stock model and tell them if accepted, you will be made available to sign and take delivery. (and actually follow thru).
If they don’t respond, move on and continue casting a wide net.
6% pre-incentive for most model Audi’s is easily achievable. Brokers will usually do far better too.
Just closing the loop here - will add to the db once paperwork is said and done, but have a written agreement for $3500 drive off $426 monthly pre tax (I get $547 effective monthly incl tax) for a 36/7500 on a Quattro prem plus. Not sure how mf, rv, and discounts are working yet but this seems like a very solid deal. Thanks for tips and advice!
Thanks! Pretty excited and thankful for this community.
73500 MSRP, but no AudiCare – to be honest I don’t think there’s much maintenance in the first 30k miles for an EV, but not sure if Audis are different for some reason. This is the service schedule I saw online:
Every 10,000 miles: Tire rotation and inspection, brake pad and rotor check, electronic system diagnostics.
Every 20,000 miles: Replacement of cabin air filter; inspection of drive components; battery health check.
Seems like it should cost a lot less than the $899 for AudiCare (I can change the cabin air filter myself, the rest is just inspections I can [mostly] do myself too).
AudiCare gives you a 1% bump in residual value so the marginal cost for the service becomes quite low. Anyway, Good luck closing the deal and I hope you enjoy your new ride.
Oh great call, I hadn’t actually math’d that one out. Guess your deal wins then! Will see about including it and how I can finagle it into the monthlies given the free-money mf.
Edit: Unsigned numbers for now for comparison – still not 100% clear what their mf and residuals are, but I’m imagining they’re padding the mf a bit for these numbers to work out the way they are:
MSRP: $73,540
DP: $64,577 (12.19% disc)
Rebates: $11,000 ($7,500 EV+ $3,500 marketing)
Drive off: $2,414 vs $3,500 total cash down (not 100% how this one nets out - adding up all fees has a bit left over somewhere).
My guess at calculator assuming 53% RV and playing around with cash down and mf to converge at the numbers I’ve been quoted
no dealer marketing allowance this month- it was converted to Customer Cash which is taxable. Quattro get $2500 Customer Cash + $7500 EV lease cash. buyrate MF=0.00032. 36/7500, RV=55%.
