Signed in NorCal Bay Area: 2025.5 Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV Ultra with Air suspension $930+tax $5k DAS
Dealer charged $500 unnecessarily for Cilajet crap, brought down from $995.
I could have done better, but given the rapidly changing landscape of tariffs and my air suspension specifc requirement made few choices available in my 200 mile radius. Still better than what the closest 3 dealerships were offering in terms of discount before $10k rebates (conquest+EV+anniversary+A-plan).
I was lurking on this forum for a xc90 for many months and would have bought one in the next few months anyway, so thought of slamming the hammer before the lease to buy option is handicapped by Volvo financial on April 1.
I don’t normally comment on signed deals to avoid raining on anyone’s parade but if someone is asking whether this deal is worth replicating then my answer would be no.
Totally agree I didn’t get the best deal out there with just 6% discount. But the inventory was too limited with air suspension and factory installed retractable tow hitch receiver, so I had limited options and leverage, not to mention the tariff chaos is supercharging the dealerships ego at the moment.
FYI I got my 2025.5 XC90 ~3 weeks ago from a dealer in Georgia. It has roughly the same MSRP, close to 90K, with the air suspension + B&W audio system.
I was able to get 12% off MSRP so my payment is $719/month w/ tax, 5k DAS for a 27 months + 10k/year lease.
It is not necessarily a great deal either, but I really really like the B&W! That is a no brainer for me
I just saw the MKBHD review of that car on Youtube. Looks pretty amazing. I can imagine why you’d rush to buy it before potential tariffs hit!! Just enjoy it!!!
MKBHD reviewed an EX90, which is a new all-electric car. The car OP purchased is a very different car. (We own a 2025 XC60, and it’s definitely less tech-y than an EX90.)
When people insist on certain features, brand, color etc. the chances of getting LH worthy deal are slim. I hope air suspension and retractable thingy are worth it. Enjoy the car.
@curioso I haven’t seen any documentation about a restriction like that anywhere. This is something the dealer told you? Maybe specific to that dealership (or trying to scare you).
If there’s one thing I’ve learned after using Leasehackr for the past 6 or so years, it is that no matter what the deal is (unless it really is a unicorn), someone will criticize it. I recognize the value in posting my deals, so that everyone can have the benefit of seeing what the going market rate is, but, damn, if y’all aren’t harsh - even when I think I did alright.
Some people do ask for opinions. But yes some people are unnecessarily harsh with unsolicited feedback on signed deals. All that energy could be channeled into helping people who haven’t signed anything yet.
Same for the million unnecessary comments on private transfers.
