I sold a 2024 718 Boxster and 2019 Range Rover Sport. Going for the “dad” car solution and trying to save a little $$$ over the next 2 years while having more fun in my daily drive
$120,700 MRM (determined by Porsche, less than MSRP of $131,100)
$74,164 sale price
24 month - 10k mile per year lease (car has 38,222 miles)
0.00333 MF (acq. fee waived, one pay discount)
50% RV
One pay $23,201
Any equity in the trades was removed and cashed out.
Retail was $74k for a 3 year old 2023 Cayenne S Coupe.
A 2021 Cayenne S Coupe with 20,000 miles more has a current trade in value of $40k.
So $34k depreciation, $1565 wheel/tire, and 225 dealer fee plus 121 title license. It’s about $36k.
Even though I would have had a trade tax credit in 2 years ($40k x 6.25%) of $2,500, the lease ($26.5k minus the $3500 cash back after the deal) makes it considerably cheaper than a purchase.
Lease also eliminates many risks and if I return in 2 years I will narrowly miss any major services, brakes, etc.
Any Porsche is expensive and there are always massive spreads and therefore depreciation even when used. Just sharing the process of leasing a used CPO to encourage others! My effective monthly is $26,701-3,500/24=$966!
Not really. As I mentioned, any equity from the trades was cashed out. So the lease number includes just the lease itself. Most lease number is posted on here don’t include tax. It’s usually $$$ + tax. So the tax credit doesn’t matter either.
I don’t disagree with you at all! But all the concrete numbers are there. We know the effective monthly. It would’ve been the same without the trades, but I would’ve had tax to pay. Tax is 6.25% in Texas.
I hope this post helps people who are curious about CPO leasing with Porsche. Not everybody wants a BMW XM lease special!
Tax isn’t even the issue. Tax is what it is, not something anyone can control. Not sure why you keep mentioning it.
The trades is the issue. I could trade in a $50K car, get $30K for it and get a $0 lease. Well, no I am paying $20K for that lease. Trades muddy the waters. Multiple trades? The entire river is mud.
I’m not even necessarily saying the dealer was shady. I’m saying it’s impossible to know what the true cost of your lease is because there are so many factors involved. We don’t know any info on your trades other than you had equity. Which in and of itself is meaningless. It just means you owe less than the dealer gave you. But for all we know the dealer gave you $10K less than what it’s really worth. This kind of deal is a dream come true for dealers since they have the ability to move numbers around (as said above) 72 ways to Jesus. And they’re not doing it to get you a better deal.
Can you read? Or are you just a chatgpt-scripted bot? Because your post reads like a bot.
He said 6x he received a check for his trades. No equity was applied to the deals. All it did was save him on the tax bill, which is irrelevant to anyone outside of his specific locality in Texas which has the same tax laws, rules, regulations, and rates as him
Couldn’t agree more, and you can’t go wrong with a Cayenne! The Cayenne in general is one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. Love them. Hope you enjoy it! Post some photos of the beast.
