Even at $50k a month in income, spending 3 hours to haggle that extra $50 a month on a 3 year lease is a better hourly rate than they’re making.
hahah
well if they actually did the calculation, they wouldn’t feel “all almighty” & look down upon the peasants. LOL
Definitely. But I’m more than happy to sell cars at sticker to him.
On a nice car, the difference between a good deal and a bad deal could easily be $500.00+ per month.
Also LMAO at someone grossing that amount and thinking they can spend it with 0 price sensitivity.
There’s a reason every lottery winner ends up declaring bankruptcy.
Heck, the heiress Barbra Hutton inherited one of the largest fortunes of her time and died with less than $4,000 in her bank account.
Abundance is no excuse for wasting money.
But I suppose that individual thought that “rich enough not to waste time” applied to them.
I mean, I’ve probably dealt with people whose time is more valuable than negotiating on a car. So I get it but this dude came off more arrogant than anything.
If you’ve"earned" or “worked hard” for the money you’ll think twice before making that kind of statement.
IMO. But I can be wrong
You do know many people do very well, stop putting everything through your lens.
Is there really a point in being the richest person buried in the cemetery?
I get the importance of saving but at one point you have to enjoy the ride too.
This tread is just ridiculous! I’m curious…how many on here are giving advice to the 1%ers without being themselves rich…hilarious that some of you think you know better than them how to make or what to do with money.
My wife works for people worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He is obsessed with Merceds buys a new one every month and always pays cash. He is a fearsome negotiator. He loves it. He could easily pay MSRP and not care. From my limited experience with very wealthy people the ones that are self made appreciate a bargain and will always negotiate for just about anything.
This thread isn’t about rich people who could easily afford the payment. Its origins were from another thread were someone was just out of college before getting their first paycheck and asking about signing a 1K+ lease payment.
I don’t think he had even graduated yet.
That was ridiculous…no problem with that but personally i thought he was just trolling…then again, at that age I too have done some crazy ![]()
This thread is purely about my entertainment, I thought it was dead but it’s built up some steam again…lol
I’ve found it’s entirely dependent on the person. Had guys haggle with me over literally .50 cents per month on principle and another guy pay sticker for an X1. Both owned their own companies with 7 figure incomes.
yeah but it’s not ignorant like I said earlier, said person could be making well over $1000 per hour when working so spending 2-3 hours haggling $1800 over 3 years or spending 2-3 hours and bringing $2-3k… it’s just an example I don’t think people making that much money a year worry about hourly wage.
Everyone has their vices, for some it’s food for others it may be cars or houses or vacations. Most save money somewhere but it may not always be cars.
You are overlooking the context of the conversation.
Yeah maybe for themselves it makes sense but this person made a comment saying something to the fact of … look at these people …
This person was making an assumption about everyone haggling over price & that part of it was pure ignorance.
His exact quote is below…
this thread is like a merry go round. It just goes in circles
