Should a single tire be replaced when damaged or both (right and left)?

Just hit something from construction on the road, driving on 101 in Bay Area. Front driver side tire is totally destroyed. Im writing this as waiting for a tow-truck to home.
I just had the service done on the car last month and front tires were 7/32. Lease has 10 months left on the car. Debating if I should just replace the single tire or should I replace both front tires?

I had this issue once before where I bought a used tire off ebay but that tire was cupped and really ruined the driving for me. Would appreciate any thoughts.

At 7/32, the other tire should be fine. Just replace one.

Is it an awd? If so maybe

If it’s 2WD, you may want to have the mismatched tire tread depths on the non drive wheels anyway.

RWD only.
