SETF "Distributor's Options"

How in the world do these “distributor options” get handled? I assume they aren’t residualized (since the package is listed right next to “two synthetic oil changes” and phone charging cables, which obviously don’t increase the value of the vehicle at all), in which case a $3300 package would pretty much kill any lease deal immediately?

The only reason I ask is because it’s not a “dealer” installed addon, and SETDistributors is owned by the same people that own SETFinance…

I don’t have an answer for you but my favorite thing about those options is the $200+ iPhone cables every Southeast Toyota car comes with.

@Ryan_S Do they residualize?

LIO’s will but DIO’s won’t. Few of those look like DIO’s but I could be mistaking.

You don’t. SET is probably the biggest and most powerful distributor in the US.

I heard via YAA there are rumblings of a lawsuit to remove things like TOYOGUARD.

On the flipside, because SET is so powerful I somehow lucked into two RAV4 Primes in non ZEV states as they were able to order them.

So I got schooled on this today….

YES they residualize (even the oil changes and floor mats and charging cables, go figure lol)

But also there’s something called a MRM (not sure what this stands for) that apparently puts a cap on the max “MSRP” for a trim level.

For example the MRM on a SR5 is like 41,500ish and the MSRP of the truck I looked at was like 43,500… so 41,500 is the MSRP and 43,500 the “sale price” (assuming you pay sticker)

MRM = Maximum Residualized MSRP.
