You’re all over the place

First decide what kind of car you need and what kind of deal would be the best deal for such a car

The very last piece would be how much to pay for a maintenance plan if it’s not free

I have a Mercedes lease, an EQE. Yes I got in on the bonanza 2 years ago, lease is coming due in a few months. I got free maintenance. Funny thing is I didn’t know I had it.

I took it in to the dealer for the 10K service and was prepared to pay. I go to check out and to my pleasant surprise it was $0 charge. And even though it’s an EV, they still charge $500 for the 20K service, which is basically a new filter, lol. Still $0 for me.

Before anyone asks, no it wasn’t a dealer freebie when I leased. I leased from Dealer A and got the service at Dealer B. I sure didn’t pay for it. So either EQEs came with service and nobody bothered to tell me, or some snafu happened. Either way I didn’t ask any questions

Maybe I’m spoiled or have rotten memory but I don’t recall paying for maintenance on any of my past leases up until I leased my Benz. But I guess I never really thought that hard about it. I pretty much never service my leases and the only time I bring them in to the dealer is when something breaks and I need a loaner while they figure it out .

Somehow this poor practice of vehicular neglect has not yet caught up with me.

I believe as per lease contract, we are supposed to do regular service

I agree, though I’ve never been penalized for not doing it. I haven’t serviced my Lyriq and I skipped Benz $399 A service. I did, however, decide to break the habit and brought my EQE350 in this weekend for the $599 B service because the dash notification was getting really annoying. All they did was top up my fluids and try to sell me on a $2,000 tire replacement. May as well have flushed my money.

That said, I don’t recommend following in my footsteps. I’m lazy and just don’t care enough to service my cars and seem to be getting away with it.

My 1st year service on eqb was free. It’s just a bunch of checking things + wiper insert. I do need to pay for tire rotation.

I did, even on the lemons. Subaru, Mazda, Ford, VW

That’s weird, my EQB lease comes with 2 years free maintenance. Just drop it for the 2nd service just now.

You used to be able to negotiate maintenance and warranty policies for the remaining miles you add above the original plans for BMW. There were a few dealers across the US that had great prices on them. You can google it, and it will pull it from Bimmer Fest etc.

BMW provides scheduled maintenance for 3 years / 36K miles. You can pay for additional wear items upfront if you wish, but not recommended. Toyota includes 2 years/25K miles of maintenance with new vehicles.
