I will give them a call Tuesday morning, but I highly doubt they will give me an exception. But I will try.

Does this exotic car still have no insurance on it?

Yeah, what @RobC2 said, you need insurance on this ASAP if you’re still under the mistaken impression that the manufacturer is somehow insuring your car?

It’s cool, he bought it in minecraft so it doesn’t really need insurance.

I haven’t taken delivery yet, so for now it is still insured by the local dealer \ manufacturer, same as every other car on the dealer’s lot. It is insured for the MSRP value of the car which is less than what I paid, of-course.

Yes, you’ve very clearly taken delivery. You have the MSO in hand and drove it several hundred miles, of course you took delivery… You think they’d hand you an MSO for a car that isn’t yours???

Hold on, what do you think it means to take delivery out of curiosity? Do you think you haven’t “taken delivery” until it’s titled to you??

If your car gets damaged today, the dealer’s insurance isn’t paying a dime. Second you paid for it and got the MSO it is your car and your responsibility. Good luck!

Are you at least going to tell us what car it is?

Polestar 1 with Volvo’ Overseas Delivery. Meaning I took delivery in Europe, drove it for a bit, regretted the purchase, gave the car back to them and they shipped it to California.

Should of just said this from the start and saved many people time

Those poor guys on the other forum thought you built a Cobra kit car!

Probably, sorry about that.

You guys actually managed to scare me a lil bit and I sent a message to the local dealer handling the delivery (not the dealer I purchased the car from) and he assured me the car is insured under their own insurance, same as every other customer’s car.

In the future, when asking people for help with a nuanced situation, it is very useful to not leave significant details like this out.

Exactly, you said you bought it out of state, flew to the dealer, and drove it for a few hundred miles…
