No, sorry, tunnel vision again. This is the case in CA. Not sure what the laws are in other states.
sold my daily commuter two years ago for 9k cash on craiglist, car was on sale for a week and buyer came in with all cash. 2010 nissan altima bought in 2013 for 16k all in, sold it in 2017 for 9k, nothing done “just” a few oil changes and a free transmission @66k miles via warranty.
45k miles 4 years @ $145 per month, almost better than a lease.
