So was my dad’s. Why we just bit the bullet and returned the car early.

Just did another defensive driving course since its been many years since my last one. After a few days of seeing no discount I call and im told that in FL you dont get the discount unless youre over 50 years old. Anyone else told the same thing?

In CA, State Farm won’t even do the defensive driving discount period. and GEICO is 50+

fixed that for you.

Our insurance has tripled since 2019 and I’m guessing it has to do with the glass claims. I have an add-on on my policy for $50 glass deductible as the agent said to do this, so it won’t go under my comprehensive deductible which I jacked up to $1000. Told me glass claims don’t count which was BS. We have nothing else in our history, no tickets, great credit scores, safety class etc… And I’ve quoted a bunch of other companies - all around the same rate.

Off topic but it seems windshields are absolute garbage today, OEM or replacement ones. I’ve been driving 25 years, up and down the coast, have had kickup from rocks or dump trucks, most of the time nothing happens. My wifes Infiniti truck the glass isn’t that bad it got hit with a big rock, but my car is a Mazda, the slightest ding and its destroyed - 3 times already

What a joke

When we moving to Florida

Well apparently I travel to the wrong places, because the pricing seems higher than ever. lol

Keep in mind those are year over year figures. The previous 2+ years of extremely high inflation is baked in. Everything keeps compounding. A few categories could trend down slightly, but you are still paying high prices. Also like you said, it can also be region specific.

Household energy is going up way faster than 3%…

Like Anchorage Alaska during peak summer season. I had some sticker shock when I booked months ago. I checked recently and major rental companies are sold out of cars now. Turo rentals are sky high compared to off peak.
