It’s time for my lease to return the Mazda CX90. I took to the dealer for inspection and he told me about the over mileage and acq fee. Checked the car and confirmed all looks good they may or may not ask you to replace the tires. I was confused as I was hoping that I can know what it is so either fix them or turn them in. He said only the corporate takes final call and his inspection report doesnt even go there. I asked if I can call them for pre-inspection that confirms everything before I turn it in. For ex, if they will charge for tires I can get some used and avoid $100s of dollars worth of charges. Lease was 24K miles and I am close to 29k. Last time when I did them same and swapped to this one they called me for some $1800ish and I never got a bill or statement until now for 2 years. Even last week I got a call for the same and they said they will send me a statement of charges which I have not received yet. I want to avoid another one like that. Any ideas on how can I verify this with Mazda before I turn it in? I have to return this by 9/2. TIA.
Thanks for the great advice on the tires. I ordered a kit to measure tomorrow so I can avoid paying for expensive tires. If they are really backed up by month, other than tires, I guess I have to take pictures and move on? I had to turn it by Tuesday so not really hv a month to wait on pre-inspection. My mistake was assuming the dealership would do the pre-inspection.
