Question - potential inter-state lease hacking

Hi all! Hopefully this is the right tagging and had an unique situation.

Currently residing in California and may need to move to Chicago in the next 6 months. I understand Chicago/cook county may not be an optimal location to register a lease given extra use taxes for a lease.

I’m trying to understand my options if there’s anything I could do to optimize a lease by first leasing in CA, before moving, perhaps either getting one of these EQB or EQE deals with a low monthly and then taking the use tax hit in Chicago, or possibly doing a one pay now then moving out to Chicago with no future lease payments to make to avoid extra charges that make lease less desirable in Chicago.
