Had my jeep EV totaled and need another car thats cheap to drive. EVs are kinda slim pickings in the same budget (sub 300/mo). Considering getting a Mirai for 180/mo and becoming the next @dualipa . Any downside to this plan?

Only downside will be Hydrogen Shortage-depending where you live… I SOLD all my other EV’s and now only rely on the 2023 Mirai and it has been great so far…Still have $11K left on my fuel card and only 8200 miles driven in 3 years…I do drive about 40 miles to refuel but not a huge deal. I haven’t seen the $180 but a $250/mo is doable with @Cody_Carter unless something changed since last month.
If fuel is not available Toyota will give a FREE RENTAL car on a weekly basis (if no fuel within 15 miles of where you live) I haven’t called them yet, but maybe I will this Monday to save the mileage and fuel card…
FYI-Heard that they may be only selling to previous Mirai owners because of the fuel shortages now.
Bad day: You have to take the bus to work because there is no fuel.
Good day: You waste an hour getting fuel.

Yeah leases get no support, but purchase is like a cheap monthly “LEASE” with FREE FUEL 
if you can “spare” some time finding fuel lol

Yep-it’s just “temporary” 40 miles…I have a station two blocks from work or 13 miles from home that I use but due to the hydrogen accident at a distributor that resulted in a death back in March they don’t deliver to the gaseous stations until they deem safe to do so… I still don’t mind the 40 miles as I regularly travel that way anyway and if I’m bored go for a refuel hahaha
Still a great car FYI, very planted and quiet cabin. I’d get another one WHEN fuel stations get more stable and closer to me…
