Pro Tip: Avoid Mercedes Electric Vehicles

I had a decent experience with the EQB!

Kept my GLE for only two months, leased it brand new and check engine light came on multiple times. My EQS over eight months of ownership has been bulletproof compared to the GLE. That being said, it is in the service getting the dc charger replaced.

I have owned about a dozen BMWs over the past decade and collectively they have had fewer issues than my two Mercedes cars in 2024

I don’t think I will touch another Mercedes unless it is a crazy good lease deal like my EQS or a flip like my GLE was…

Ditto my friend

Why on earth would that have been your plan even before these stories?

These EQS are never going to stop depreciating. Just because you’re catching a falling knife half way down doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. You’re still getting an arm sliced off.

Some folks are into whips and chains. Some folks are into jelly beans with more lift time than Jack Lalanne.

If I can get a 3-4 years used EQS for $30-40k, I think that’ll be a good price. The only issue is getting a good ppi to not get a lemon one.

This thread is scary. My wife is stern on getting a 3-row Mercedes for her next car, so looks like a fidelity warranty it is :pensive: . Wish I could convince her into a X7, which is arguably a much better car

PPI doesn’t apply here. There are no independent mechanics with any expertise on these.

And dealership “PPI” is basically a checklist of stuff that’s relatively unimportant here, like tread and brake pad depth. You’ll have no insight into whether the battery or motors will die and financially total the car.

Do what you must. :slightly_smiling_face:

Lease a EQB. Technically it’s a three row MB.

Basically the cost of the battery at that point but still risky.

Wouldn’t touch it without a bulletproof CPO warranty with a double digit year term and unlimited miles (because you’re not ever selling it without losing money)

Gas makes most sense for us. Only have 1 Dryer Plug which is being used for another car. Nearest EA is like 30 miles away

The cost of putting in another outlet is peanuts compared to the difference between a Gas and BEV MB.

But we are getting off topic so I’ll stop there.

I’m fully aware it’s a gamble especially since no one can’t even diagnose potential issues with this car.

Guess I should forget the Eqs now! Maybe Mercedes will kill all Eq cars/suvs sooner than later

Slowly, they are phasing them out - stopped all R&D on the eq line - will focus on hybrids

Toyota was right all along

Too bad their hybrids aren’t really reliable either. The only reason one buys a MB nowadays is for the deal or the star - the BMW counterparts are always much better, with the exception of the Geländewagen and the XM

Sorry this happened to you.
But make the best of it, you can get a large RV and relocate it for free or basically. Enjoy the ride eith the family and can bring all the stuff with you.

The same thing like a 100+ years ago. Noone was able to fix/repair ICE car LOL

I’m not seeing the issue. Mercedes is buying back the car and giving you a full refund. They are not obligated to give you another car at the same exact price. Why don’t you just try to negotiate a deal for another car?
