Post EV-mageddon Deal Search for Lyriq

Wasn’t able to close anything back in September, so the hunt continues.

This is a daily so good sound system + comfy ride are all that matter. Targeting Lyriq Lux 2 or higher (potentially an Optiq)

Here’s where I need some help.

  • What’s a better more efficient way to reach out to dealers and provide offers? I’ve gotten stuck in the trap previously where I reach out to a dealership, and they hem-haw about coming in, or they take 2+ business days to respond.
  • When using Rate Finder, I noticed that the offers for certain incentives go away on a 36 month lease?

So far, I’ve gotten a call back on an inquiry I put in last week for a Lyriq Lux 1 - 2 year / 10kmi - Calculator Link (Guessed on MSRP Selling Price to get it close to the quoted #)

9,625.78 ($8,841.16 plus tax) one pay lease

MSRP $63,490

Less GM incentives $5,500

  • CTA $2,000
  • Conquest $2,000
  • GM rewards CC $500
  • plus dealer discounts

Plus

  • 1 pay lease tax (9.375%) $784.62
  • Registration for the first year $15 (we already paid for it this year as it’s a loaner)
  • Documentation fee $85
  • CA air & emisson fee $35

Should be able to get EV Supplier, so that should help sweeten the deal, but not sure what other levers I have to pull or if re-creating August crazy deals is remotely possible.

I’m no expert

but… different strategies work for different dealerships
For me, I have historically just gotten a target number id like to pay based on the current months offers and went…

Yo I want this car at this price with these rebates. I can come in and sign today/remote sign if you can confirm and send over the quote sheet.

Can you do it or nah?

basically it..

and then try to talk to the sales manager or higher when calling. sales associates arent always the best but sometimes u get lucky

I opted for an Optiq because I couldn’t find a ‘24 CTP Lyriq deal in time either. I’m still getting calls from dealers that are trying to move ‘25 CTP Optiqs and Lyriqs. GM found a loophole to continue to pump up the residual value with the 7500 EV credit. All previous incentives are active except the Costco incentive. So you can still find a good deal out there.

how they can bump up the RV?

I read in the news somewhere that GM pre purchased all remaining EV inventory to book the credit

Barrons article regarding this. Interesting.

Argh, paywall.

Some info here:

Ooh only valid through the end of October? Maybe we will see the dealers be more motivated to move these Lyriqs as it gets closer to the end of the month then I wonder

This post has some more info Expiration of EV Credit Superthread - #730 by LAK1ngs

“GM customers will still get the benefit of the $7,500 discount for leases that start by the end of October, but the company will fund the incentive without claiming the tax credit, the spokesman said.”

Interesting that they are not going to claim the tax credit, I wonder if the government cracked down on them for making this move. Sounds like they are just going to eat that extra $7500 cost since they aren’t going to claim the tax credit but still pass through the incentive which is crazy.

Show how inflated MSRPs are on electrics.

Probably depends on inventory….

Well, that didn’t take long…

no good news! I was hoping to get a good GM lease in next few months

So it’s been narrowed down to an Optiq. Don’t think I’ll be able to get a Lux 2 or higher in the 7-8k range I’m looking at. Tested the base sound system in the Lux 1 and wasn’t a fan.

Got an offer for a $7500 One Pay (Tax, Title, Registration, etc.) included. [9.375% tax rate]

MSRP - 55000

Selling Price - About 53700

RV - 79.98%

MF - .00092 (Matches MF on RateFinder)

Any and all feedback is appreciatedx

Use a broker. They’ll do the hunting and negotiate with the dealership with you. Why do all the hard work yourself?

Just perused through the marketplace. Didn’t see any offers lower than what I’ve been able to find myself with some effort (and my lackluster negotiation skills)

[If any broker is reading this and can beat the quoted price, happy to help you make some $$.]

Depends on how much “hard work” is worth to you. Not worth 600-800 to me plus shipping

Residual is 80% this month? That’s awesome. It was only 74% last month.

I think your pre-incentive discount can be improved. It’s kinda odd because the RV is so high… I’d start with a 5% discount and then negotiate down. In other words, I’d offer $6K onepay and settle at $6.5K.

Deals are different this month (no Costco incentive), but my data from last month showed many people were able to get onepay between 6K to 7K for 24/10K on 2025 Optiq loaner.

Funny enough just got an offer for 5996 one pay an hour ago.

Appreciate you providing those data points!

I haven’t following Optiq deals closely, butbthis seems pretty good…?

GM extended leasing loophole through end of Oct 31st on 20k units.

They now decided to cancel the loophole extension and are self-funding inflated residuals through Oct 31st(since the program had already been announced to public).

If anyone wants a GM EV deal you better get it done this month.
