The way sales tax works in TX, the monthly payments would double on these $100k cars. Unless there’s sales tax credits on porsches now?

Sales tax is on the entire purchase price, not just the payment. And yes, even if you lease there is a “purchase” price since a bank/lender is buying the vehicle and basically renting it to you. Vehicle sales tax is 6.25% in TX. So on a $100,000 vehicle that is $6,250 added to the cost of the lease.
