From what I understand, several thousand Polestar 4 are already on their way to dealers. Anyone think we may see attractive lease offers coming up?
I have not seen a Polestar 4 in person yet.
They are already offering $25k off for cash purchase. Lease $399 for base model. I wouldnât be surprised if they start adding more incentives.

This +100. It also doesnât help that they lack a widespread service network. Im in Western PA and the closest service point is 3 hours away.
In an ideal world, these wouldâve needed minimal trips for maintenance or warranty work, but given the platform issues Iâm sure it was on some folksâ minds. Will I deal with EX90 issues given I have a service center 15 min away? Sure. Would I have loved to lease a polestar? Yes, but would be too much of a pain if anything were to happen.

A reasonable auto manufacturer would not expect to enter a new market and become profitable in less than 5 years.
Polestarâs is losing billions either way, and we donât know the specifics of which regions account for the losses but with the US only having around 10% of Polestarâs market share it would be reasonable to assume that the US isnât their biggest problem.
Forget the 7.5K tax break, Polestar could have given a 50% discount on every vehicle they sold in the US last year and it would account for less than 10% of their losses for the year.
Geely wants to enter the US market with Geely designed vehicles and Polestar brings them closer to that.
A graceful exit would be an important factor to the Chinese, so yes it accomplishes that.
Do we have any P4 at $250 with $250 DAS?

Is it makes sense to lease polestar coupe 4s? Similar price to Tesla y. Us Polestar better car?

This was my thought also. I donât want to give Tesla another dime, but the closest polestar is 2 hours away. I have a few months and was focusing on MB 250+ and Optiq, but a really good p4 lease might put them in the mix.

We know the Renault plant in SK produces Polestar 4s as from their press release.
YSRPA is the VIN prefix for Polestar 4s, and we see that lathered throughout the shipment description.
There has been 3,347 Polestar 4s that were imported into the US.
Can anyone get a credible number on how many were sold? That would give a good estimate how many are left.

I use caredge , not every dealer is on there so the numbers could be 5-15% higher but they show 650 available in the country.

Will be interesting to see how long they continue to make P4âs destined for the US in South Korea since there is really no reason to continue sending a bunch of cars to the US to sell at a loss.
I imagine whatever regional differences there are in building the model can be switched over at the factory fairly quickly.
I read a news report last week that there was a ship en route with 1000-2000 new P4s, which would be multiples of existing inventory, but I donât think theyâd send any after that. It should still mean some big deals though.

I just got this marketing email from Poleatar Houston. Is it supposed to be as hilarious as it sounds?
âWeâre happy to share there are great Polestar 3âs available in our inventory! Combined with the $20,000 Clean Vehicle Incentive and $5,000 down lease any of these models from $750-$950 depending on spec. An additional $2,000 Conquest Offer can also be applied to qualifying customers!â
What a deal! I mean, do the buttons on the steering wheel even work yet? Or maybe thatâs a paid DLC that will be available from Polestar Sweden later.

You should be asking how the hell do they get you to $1k/month with $20,000 rebate AND $5k down. No one can compete with Maserati buttons

Thereâs a Polestar/Volvo dealer 5 min from me - 4 with Pilot and Plus pack, 39-month lease with 7,500 miles per month (I barely hit 1k a month now in my current vehicle). Feels tempting.
The USA only accounts for around 5-7% of worldwide EV sales. If they encounter a lot of issues/barriers selling in the USA then it probably makes sense for them to focus on the other 93+% of the world, at least for now.
Has this actually been proven true? Just because software is made in China doesnât mean data goes back to China. Plenty of SaaS providers segregate data by jurisdiction as needed (e.g. to ensure data from EU users is stored and processed entirely in the EU)

We are talking about China here ⌠both Geely and BYD have said they want to sell cars in the US.
Historically short term profits have been irrelevant in matters like this - it just comes down to national pride.
