I really donāt understand how Polestar is so bad at interior volume. The Polestar 3 is 6 inches LONGER than a Mach E, but has a dramatically smaller trunk (17 cu ft vs 29 for the Mach E, excluding the frunk). How is this possible?
Come to think of it, the Polestar 2 also has a tiny trunk and feels very cramped inside, given the overall size of the car.
Maybe itāll look better in person, but I think itās kind of boring (except for the curiously chaotic front end, although thatās still way better than anything that, say, BMW is doing). Not loving the huge D-pillar (a pet peeve of mine).
I normally like Volvo interiors, but this one looks kind of boring, too. I think the studio pics arenāt very good (why so dark?), so, again, maybe itāll look better IRL.
I love Volvoās seats, but I think they mount the seats fairly high b/c I have often had issues w/ headroom (Iām 5ā11" but I have short-ish arms, so I sit very upright).
As much as itās a reverse TARDIS, I am missing the spacious Volvo center console and map pockets and glove box. I could stack 5 large TVs in my current trunk, I can barely stash gum and hand sanitizer in the cabin.
-I assume the XC90 this is based on wont be too far off?
-The aero program targets I assume helped the rear be what it isā¦smh.
-Is polestar enough of a brand to sell $85 Cayenne competitors?
Polestar 4 launches first in China, with production planned to begin in Hangzhou Bay, China, in November 2023. The state-of-the-art Geely-owned production facility operates on 100% renewable electricity.
Details for the North American market will be presented in 2024, with the vehicle arriving later that year. Indicative launch pricing[3] is from $60,000 USD. More information can be found at polestar.com/polestar-4.
I suppose if the aero design and the packaging made the rear window pretty useless (like say, a model y), if you can solve that with a digital rear view mirror that gives better performance and then give other advantages (like a huge roof), why not?
