Pay upfront for higher total miles vs. Pay at lease end for excess miles

A great way to look at is, if you prepay for miles & you don’t use them it’s money down the drain. The manufacturer isn’t going to call you back & say “hey! Got a lot of undriven miles here, we are going to send you back a big fat check!”

Only pay for what you actually go over. Obviously that’s not me saying if you normally do 15k miles per year go get 7,500. But we all don’t really know what’s going to happen tomorrow how can we predict how many miles we are going to drive in 3 years

Can one theoretically go as many miles as one wants over the mileage defined in the contract as long as one pays for the excess mileage? Or is there a maximum for excess mileage?

in this hypothetical example spanning every brand and leasing company, one would read their lease contract to be sure.

if you search there are lots of examples

remember if you theoretically went WAYYYY over, you’d be out of warranty and liable for all repairs.
