If you want some sort of protective coating, go to a real detailing business that uses legitimate products. The crap dealers sell is basically MLM products meant only to extract money from your wallet. Ignore anything they’ve said.

I bought a Boxster a few years old and had super noticeable swirling on blue metallic paint. Good news is swirls are pretty fixable via a two stage polish. Many DIY YouTube videos later it looks gorgeous.
