Decided to give Rodo a try, understanding that I may possibly take a hit for the extra convenience of not having to physically shop around. Please let me know how I did.
You’re effectively paying around 500 a month if you take the total due at signing into consideration. Discount here is pretty weak considering that $1,500 of it is factory lease cash. Are you sure it’s 42 months? Your calculator says 48. I didn’t even see Rodo listing a 42 month option on the app, either 39 or 48. I know that US Bank offers that term though.
48 months is a long time to lease, especially when you are out of warranty for a full year on an FCA product. I leased my Gladiator for 42 months knowing there was some risk but I paid $297 a month with only first month at signing comparing my deal apples to apples. That was last April and I had a targeted mailer to go along with available incentives. I also got about $4,000 off sticker before incentives on a 44k truck.
The score is pretty meaningless tbh. I’d jump on TrueCar to search for inventory and pricing (not necessarily for quotes) as well as the Jeep website, see if there are any targeted private offers available. I’d shop around a bit for some quotes using Cargurus and sites like that to find specific trucks you are interested in that are located within an area you are willing to travel. Jeep dealers can be pains to deal with but I’m pretty sure you can beat this Rodo deal. If you haven’t signed anything yet you should be able to back out of it if you find a better offer.
Without actually working out a target deal, it’s difficult for me to judge. It’s always in your best interest to work out what a good deal is before agreeing to a deal.
It sounds like you are in Jersey based on the tax rate. If you’re looking to do this quick and easy vs hacking your own I’d see if @IAC_Scott or @Cars4Us are able to offer a better deal.
Not alot of 80th Anniversary additions around… Will be hard to get a better discount unless you want to put alot more work into it. My goto dealer has in one stock and is selling at MSRP.
You will find better lease programs on the Willys and Sport S trims. Not sure if you are stuck w/ 80th Anniversary trim, but you can load up a Sport S to around the same MSRP and payment will be $100/mo less. Willys might not be much cheaper, but will be easier to find at discount.
They also hold value very well… At this kind of total cost I would almost guarantee you will have positive equity in this vehicle way before you reach the end of lease term. Should be very possible to flip at 36 months.
Umm, no. Projecting future resale value with almost no data is dubious at best. But just as important, FCA or Stella Artois or whatever they want to be called in 3 years will have a fiduciary duty to its shareholders to sell its assets not below fair market value.
If FMV > RV, it will charge third parties higher than RV.
Yes, the lessee has a contractual option to buy it at RV but after TTL (almost 9% in NY) your equity shrinks.
@z0lt3c seems to be correct so far about the base Sport trim in particular, I’m guessing due to the aftermarket Jeep community. I’m not entirely sure about the higher level trims yet. It wouldn’t shock me if this wasn’t underwater in 3 years time but I wouldn’t bet anything on it either.
There obviously was no 75th Anniversary Edition Gladiator, to use for direct comparison, but clean 75th Anniversary Wranglers generally start at $30K with 40k-50k miles. Bear in mind, the average MSRP for a 2017 Anniversary Wrangler was only $34K where-as with the 2021 Anniversary Gladiator we are talking a $47K MSRP. Here is the MMR wholesale data:
Little high. I got my 2021 80th anniversary for $399.00 taxes included with $100 due at signing after two days of negotiating and leaving a few months ago. 48 months US Bank as well. 47k msrp. Shopped at two dealers. Dealer one originally high 500’s with nothing at signing. Dealer two offered me $415 taxes included with $1000 total due. Was on my way to pick it up when Dealer one called asking what it would take for me to come back. Told them under $400 taxes included and nothing due at signing. It was last two days of the month back. I’m assuming their manager said who had a customer yesterday, give them what they want LOL. I got lucky, yours seems to be the norm. Regardless enjoy it! I know I have been! Fun truck to drive.
