Hi everyone! First-time leaser here. Just trying to vibe check whether my ideal Cadillac Optiq lease below is feasible. Also, if I can get this deal this month (or something close to it), should I just go for it or is it likely the numbers/incentives might be better next month? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you all so much!
Model: 2026 Optiq Luxury AWD courtesy loaner, I don’t care about the color
Location: Michigan
MSRP: $56195
Ideally negotiate up to 15% off MSRP: $47766 (is this too aggressive?)
Based on my experience with negotiating over a dozen Optiq loaner deals, I have seen dealers give a good discount on the car but then mark up the money factor. If you can get it for $5k as a one pay with 15k miles a year then take it. I have not seen it that low without state incentives. Use the cadillac search tool to look for loaners and start proposing an offer to dealers and see if any wants to play.
Is this even possible? 5k for the one pay seems a bit light. Best I have seen is just shy of 11k as a one pay. If you get it signed bravo to you and I may try hunting the same afterwards..
I’m also on the hunt for an AWD Optiq Courtesy vehicle. I’ve contacted multiple dealers up to 500 miles away and have been struggling to get any of them to negotiate any.
they will scoff at you when you ask for 15% - “oh we have families to feed.” or some shit. that being said, if you find something at that price, that’s awesome!
On a related note, I spoke with Cadillac Financial over the phone today who said that if you had a one-pay lease and the car were totaled you would NOT get a prorated refund from them. Seems at odds with what I had read online previously and makes me second guess whether the savings on a one-pay lease are worth the additional risk.
They also very clearly stated that with a courtesy vehicle the miles are added on to the current odometer reading and the RV stays the same as if it were totally brand new. The example I gave was a courtesy car with 1K miles and 12 month/10K lease. They said you would give the car back at 11K miles. Is there any downside to this approach? I take it under such terms the goal would be to get an even bigger discount % off MSRP than a totally new car to account for the miles/wear+tear already in place?
Our current LYRIQ one-pay lease has the same language.
This mirrors anecdotal experiences on LH with one-pays on various brands, and language in other brands’ one-pay lease agreements, including this one from my previous Audi one-pay.
fwiw, the GMF leases are Ohio transactions, the Audi is California.
Closing the loop on this. I just drove my '26 Optiq AWD Sport home. It was a courtesy vehicle with a little over 2K miles that I leased from a dealer 2 hours away. For some reason the numbers differ very slight between the deal and signed links, but the 1-pay total cost with disposition was $8788, effective monthly cost $366, and Leasehackr score of 13.7. The deal came together over text over 2-3 days. Many thanks to @trism and other members of the community for their thoughtful advice. I was also very pleased with the professionalism and thoughtfulness of the sales consultant I worked with (AS you know who you are!).
