In all the deal I’ve seen done in last few months we’ve always excluded NY residents as they can’t do MSD be it QX60, BMW, Toyota etc.
Why no one tried to do it with OnePay?
I’ve pocked around the last few weeks and got multiple confirmations including dealerships from NY state that can do OnePay lease. This is only for Toyota only but whoever is doing a deal on BMW and others should look into that in NY state since MSD route is blocked.
Albeit I don’t even know if BMW does OnePay and if what kind of MF discount is offered. Maybe someone knows and can chime in?
Than your 328b in NY state will be even cheaper per months:)
At least this is the way for Toyota thanks to @Cody_Carter information gem. OnePay 0.00100 discount vs 0.00072 for max MSD.
and NY states is not excluded.
Or am I wrong on NY state OnePay logic? Has someone tried to go this route?
That’s my point.
I’ve seen deals here from dealers in NY state and it was specifically stated no MSD.
So why not OnePay instead?
I think @HN308 I’ve seen some deals like that from you. At least there was one on BMW. Could these deal be done with OnePay and get a MF reduction this way instead of MSD?
Would OnePay MF reduction be worth it on BMW or Infinity?
It seems so on Toyota.
I’m just wondering outloud for the benefit of the community.
One pay can be done to reduce the MF from any dealer whether in NY or not. The customer can be in any state as well.
One pay also helps if your credit is marginal, say someone new to this country with good job but not lengthy credit history. I had one customer who got rejected by BMW financial due to short credit history but when he offered to put One pay they did consider it and accepted his Credit application.
Unfortunately in this particular case there isn’t much online to disprove this. I tried to search on Toyota and most I found was sending person back to ask the dealership. And sometime I’m not sure the dealership is even sure about the answer.
The reason no one advertises it is that most shoppers are MP shoppers and not very liquid. The ROI on Toyota and Infiniti MSDs is insane but how many people do it? And that’s for a smaller $ amount than a Onepay.
Agreed - most are not but not on this board.
On this board, there are multiple deals posted with MSDs every month and people are hunting them all over for an extra $15pm saved. So why not go further for another $15?
Especially for a dealership from NY that can’t do MSD at all.
Also, if you do a OnePay, may make the lease harder to transfer. I can’t think many people considering a lease transfer would be willing to front you all of the remaining payments.
Is it that much harder than trying to recoup MSD especially halfway through the lease when the amount of all MSD could equal or be less than whatever remains of OnePay?
I have found MSD to be easier because you get something tangible back at the end. It is a mind game, to some extent, but seems easier for folks to swallow.
