They will for Nissan I believe. CDJR and some others they do not.
If you go that route, it probably would be best to wait until it’s a couple of weeks before he/she moves down there. That way you could handle the deal via email/docusign (assuming MS allows that) and just pick the car up when you get down there. Anytime you make aggressive offers you need to be willing to sign today. Hence timing it to when you’re actually going down there.
Reliable used cars for college kids do exist.
You just have to move fast when you find them.
YMMV, but I would never put my kid in a car that old (esp in a car which did poorly in the existing side impact test at the time), if I could afford to do otherwise.
