I concur

You just need to trade him a Tesla Model X @ $79,995

Too late already closed on a $83,5K+destination one.

Losing the $7,5K vs losing about ~$6K in writeoff if it went down next year was close enough for me to say to hell with it.

Texas inventory apparently has to be organically allocated and we don’t have the option to bring one in no matter what I offered to transport it.

But the problem is that as a broker, you can work from home instead of going to work at a dealership with set hours and stuff. You can basically pick your own hours. Basically the uber/doordash version of car sales.

Hell they could give them 50% of the broker fee. The bird dogs on broker deals can stretch from $1000-$5000 dollars.

Agreed 100% for sure!

at 50% someone give me a job already! Available from 10th to the 25th of every month lol

Also, I find many salespeople who have no idea what they’re doing lol. Most don’t or claim they don’t have control over pricing. “I hAvE tO AsK tHe MaNAger”

With the exception of some makes and some people (@wam22 @thevolvoguy and a few others), this is 100% by design.

No matter what you offer, many people will ask for more.

The more steps you add to it, the more perceived resistance which tends to lead to softer landings for keeping gross.

Yeah but you can end up losing customers that way. At least encourage making an offer. Something like, “Hey man, I can probably get you a little discount on this IX. I know my manager is trying to sell this month, let me know what you want and I’ll do my best to get to it” will save many sales.

It’s also a much more feasible business model, let’s be realistic here. The average salesman Joe barely knows jack about the vehicle he is selling, let alone the financial side of the dealership. That accommodates the turnover and hierarchy you’ll find in a general store.

Hell, the frequency that we have to guide a sales manager, gm, or even F&I guy/gal should speak volumes about the system.

Maybe because they only hire dealer employees and collect that commission and broker fee #doubledip

Good theory but I don’t think the sales guys are allowed to sell at the prices dealers give us. I always wondered why they’re not more upset about that
at least my deals get passed around to sales guys so they can hit their bonuses though

I tried hiring twice. Both times they were mad I wasn’t giving them 50% of what I make plus I was doing double the work answering all their dumb questions. I’d rather work 12 hour days
