Off Topic Landfill 5

Hey. This has nothing to do with this thread but easiest way to message you as fast as I can … I see on your website the Audi Q8 I would like to put $2300 down … I am interested in getting this deal by tomorrow can you price it out for me completely?

Because you were completely wrong about the state mandating “fixed prices” for an extended warranty, I assume you can now go and haggle for your Eddie Bauer/J Crew/Bass Pro Shops premium warranty for your sweet new CRV?

stick to being hyper-capitalist bourgeois and leave the comedy to the comedians.

Don’t be bitter little man, no comedic effect was intended by using your own prior words to describe your new warranty.

At least we now know two things: 1) that extended warranty prices in Florida are not set by the state, and 2) who is a solid go to person for incorrect information.

Enjoy your CRV. Out of curiosity, were you able to get Honda to specially build an LX in a Hybrid?

no bitterness here. i made an incorrect assumption on some conflicting information that i’d read online and stupidly posted about it. i was just trying to politely infer that your tortured attempts at making jokes are incredibly unfunny.

for state of florida new car extended warranty information? absolutely correct that i am not a go-to person for correct information. i would have thought that was a given seeing how many posts i made in the thread already but maybe we’ll have to have people start labeling their posts as ‘non-expert’ so you won’t get confused in the future.

is this another attempt at humor by pointing out the car isn’t a top of the line model and thus intended for the poorer amongst us?

So you have your very own words and nonsense turned against you and you find it not to be funny? In the same way those exact words were not funny when you initially wrote them?

Do you simply not get it?

Still can’t believe you haven’t been banned yet.

we’ll see about that Mr. Flip Addict

I’m tired. And it’s so much more work to extract value right now. Not sure it’s worth it.

Love the Tanzanite! Well worth the wait!

Now you have to explain your thesis

If you’re suggesting it depends on who codes the AI, then yeah I agree.

But a wholistic, publicly coded AI that self-learns right from wrong would be better than 90 year old career politicians that stay in office for eternity.

I mean at some point the AI will realize we’re just emotional apes with nuclear weapons; then it will just blow us all up to save the planet.

prices go down, discounts go up, other car manufacturers start trying to take advantage with big sales. the real question is how long will the strike last. unfortunately the UPS strike ended too quickly to cause any real damage. lets see if the UAW can hold out for longer.

The problem there is right from wrong. Who defines that? And who says what’s right for ai isn’t wrong for humanity. Reminds me of westworld. If ai sees humanity as the enemy they will try to right that.

I don’t honestly see how my kids will be able to buy a house. Less than 20 years ago I bought my first condo when I was single at 22 and first house when married at 24 . Based upon salaries today and the cost of housing (not to mention student loan debts, interest rates, etc) I don’t see how its possible - I’m also in the midwest - the coasts appear to be worse

They’re living home longer and longer which is a good thing. We shouldn’t be forcing kids out at 18 on their own when we have room for them. That money wasted on rent/utilities/excess food can go towards those said expenses. We’re like the only culture that lives this way in the world, because consumption is ingrained into us from an early age.

The amount of elderly in retirement homes also, all that money could be going to the family. Multigenerational housing is 100% the future here…better to plan for it now. And it also makes the family unit stronger, another good thing. Elderly living at home spending time with their grandchildren (saves on childcare) instead of working until their 65-70 just to collect a few years of their social security is ludicrous. Breaking up the family unit only weakens us and strengthens those profiting from it.

As for student loans, unless your children are top of their class (which they should get scholarships for anyway) I don’t think college will be necessary in the future. We have a huge shortage of tradesman as is bc of the push into for profit eduction by schools. Look at the prices contractors are charging these days! Way better then going to a 3rd rate school just to work at enterprise rental car for $40k a year.

Blessing in disguise if you ask me. Nothing wrong with a strong family unit combining assets to solve problems together. That’s the way it was for millenia and we prospered.

how socialist of you! guess there’s hope yet.

oh i know what he meant i was just busting his chops because the obvious solution to this situation is not a form of capitalism and is in fact socialism but that flies in the face of his love of said economic system. just a little friendly joshing.

Families have always been social/communal. It can work on a very small non diverse scale. To acquire those assets you need a capitalist system.

You couldn’t help yourself though. I understand…

we all have our weak spots

you know all those capitalist communes out there…

I don’t know of any successful country sized communes no. In fact I’d be willing to bet there’s none over maybe 100-200 people. Bc human nature doesn’t allow it. There’s always greed, jealousy, wrath etc.

Thank god for capitalism or they would be dead or disbanded

The community makes money through making and selling tofu and hammocks that they say gross about $2 million a year and they share income.

Yes, someone needs to put down their copies of Das Kapital and The Communist Manifesto, stop visiting Lenin’s tomb and take down their Breshnev wall portrait. Totally bizarre.
