NJ EV / PHEV at Home Charging Discount?

,

Considering the new Jeep 4xe. Does anyone know if NJ or the electric companies off any discount on purchasing and installing a level 2 Charger?

Thanks!

There’s a federal tax credit for 30% of the cost of the charger/installation, up to $1000

I’ve scrolled past Ads for EV charging and solar installation specifically for “NJ homeowners” so I’m guessing there are also state-specific programs and rebates

I’d assume this is something I’d listed on my taxes come tax season?

Thank you!

Hold off. There is supposed to be a separate $500 rebate from the state of NJ on top of the federal tax credit that rolled over for this year. They have not released the details yet but it is part of the law they passed last year. It is definitely earmarked to be part of the Charge Up NJ program. My best guess is in July when funding returns for the vehicle rebates they will roll the charging rebate out in tandem. There has been no announcement as to whether it will be retroactive or not, so if you get something now you may not be able to apply for the additional state incentive.

Do you know if in July the rebates will be like they were before December? 5-6k it was I think.

The dollar amount will be the same. $25 dollars for every mile of electric range, up to 200 miles, or $5,000 total. That money is supposed to be discounted directly by the dealer at the point of sale once this second phase of the program launches.

Thanks for the info. I’m likely ordering the vehicle today. So, I don’t need to do anything at this time. Hopefully, NJ charge up phase 2 starts before I take delivery!

does something like this exist for NYS?
