First off, want to thank many of you for your passion to help my grandmother unwind her terrible deal on buying out her lease. Ultimately, it was her decision not to fight it. Later that day I started getting Facebook retargeting ads from law firms that fight this social injustice. So there is definitely help for those out there in need of it.
Now I am in the midst of negotiating a deal on a Pathfinder for my wife.
I have been able to secure a 10k/18mo deal.
Can I simply convert that to a 1 payment deal as follows:
New Payment Based on discounted MF x 18
+
9 MSD
= DAS
The first step in any Nissan one pay w/MSD deal is to confirm if the dealer is willing to do a one pay w/MSD. For a lot of dealers the answer is no and there’s really no point in trying to negotiate further.
Its not that. Some just don’t ever do them, so they worry about the risk of the contract being rejected, so they don’t do them, so they never learn how to do them without being rejected. Its a vicious circle.
I was able to negotiate a reasonable deal (2300 gross profit factoring dealer fee(s), holdback, finance reserve, lease cash and discount to invoice).
I feel like if I had started with 1 payment approach, the dealer would have never gotten to my number when backed out to a 18mo/10k, as they tend to focus on payment when selling a lease.
My estimated effective payment (for a 1 payment) is about $217 per month tax included before disposition fee, when I back out the numbers with the reduced MF.
I guess tomorrow, I will throw this at them and see what happens.
Hello,
I am a Nissan dealer and was put on to this forum from some customers that I was able to help.
I don’t mind sharing information to help the forum understand the complexities we go through on the other side. One pay leases aren’t familiar to many dealers as they tend to take the easy way out, and one pay leases are somewhat complex to the untrained eye.
I hope I’m not breaking any forum rules but I’m here in good faith and will help anyone in need.
I have 17 years experience with Nissan. 3 as a salesman, 11 in F&I and 3 as General Sales Manager.
If you’re looking to help, that’s great and you’re not breaking any rules. If you plan to offer deals and solicit business then you would need to register on the site as a dealer / broker and pay the monthly fee.
