Nissan called me last month about my Ariya lease ending and I told them I wanted to extend it. They told me that in order to do so I would need to call back closer to the date. I called back today and they told me that they don’t do EV extensions for leases and they never called me back to tell me this wasn’t an option. Is this a new policy or something that has always been?
I would call again and ask for a manager . This is the ONLY way to find out.

Is it a one-pay lease? IIRC other posters on LH have noted one-pays cannot be extended.
Nope this is monthly. I had the one pay extension issue before so I made sure to get a monthly this time so I could extend.
I ran into the same problem, while others have gotten their lease extended. I will be curious as to how this goes.
I tried to extend in the chat and got to the end when the agent said “oops it’s telling me we can’t do this”. I called customer service about an hour later and spoke to that rep and my lease was extended in about 6 minutes. Keep trying. Or maybe I was truly an exception.
I called again today and even escalated the call. They keep telling me that the lease can’t be extended. I explained that other people are extending their leases, but there is still nothing that can be done.
I chatted with a rep and they said that you have 10 calendar days after lease end to return the vehicle with no penalty, which is slightly helpful. I plan on calling later and escalating again though.
Forgot to update. I tweeted Nissan and told them my frustration with being told I could extend and then being told something else. Got a call from their customer success team, they escalated it and extended the lease 3 months.
