It annihilates an 840, which leases for more money. And id say it will hold its own against an 850, at least off the line because the torque is instant.
What are you trying to say here? That demand for different vehicles can vary? Also no mention of which dealership you had an experience with, and why you put this in this thread?

For them to step up on a trade in addition to these fantastic deals would be a massive blow to them.

Not my intent.
I just think a lot of people expect a crazy good deal on a buy coupled with an aggressive trade offer.
I donāt think you gave off the vibe thatās what you were targeting.
I found your post informative for others. My comment was more of a general one. That is, people shouldnāt expect to have their cake and eat it, in most scenarios.

I do work with a lot of the dealers in our area, and trades are definitely YMMV. Iāve seen some vroom/carvana matched deals, and others not even close.
I think the issue is that the pre-owned managers and the new car managers are never on the same page. The pre-owned managers usually only care about their numbers, so itās hit/miss.
I think we settled the debate regarding the i8/8seriesā¦lambo doors on an 8 series, right?

I agree. We had a buyer back out today (no offense to him) because he didnāt get what he thought his trade deserved. They could either increase the value of the trade and decrease the discount on the new car or keep the high discount on the new car. It canāt be both when the dealer is already taking a bath on the new car.
