Fortunately, the Volvo s60 is neither German, an SUV, or equipped with runflats.
But the x3 and X5 that have been mentioned multiple times in this thread are. Regardless of the OPs car, it’s a good discussion.

I’m in a similar situation but in reverse. 5 months left on my truck lease and the tires are at 4/32. I will take these off and buy a set of used tires, with just enough to get me through the winter, then put these ones back on to return the truck.
I barely have 25K miles and the POS Goodyears are already bald. I do tow a lot so that is a factor, but still 25K is ridiculous.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a seriously good set of OEM tires. I have no doubt in my mind the choice is purely financially motivated.

Our X3 lease is up in 7 months and the tires are at 3/32. I had not considered the used tires route before, but the commentary here prompted me to do some research. Long story short, a used set has been ordered!
