Just got the quote below for a new 2019 Mercedes C300 lease in Dallas but I’m not sure if I shoukd pull the trigger or not.
MSRP $49,355
Sales price: $44,688
Down: $0
4 MSDs
Miles: 12k/year
Options: amg line, night package, premium package 1, premium sound
Monthly: $562/month.
The additional maintenance package for around $13/month is not included in the $562/month.
Ideally, I wanted a 2018 e class loaner with premium sound, pan sunroof and amg line with night package but I only found one in DFW and it was +$700/month and am only willing to pay below $600/month for it so I’m settling on a C Class.
Is this a good deal? I’ve seen better deals on here but I’ve called around everywhere in DFW and this is the best I can find but I possibly could be missing something in my negotiations to bring down the monthly rate even more.
Yay or nay?
Thanks in advance!
You can get an e class loaner cheaper. That’s a terrible discount. If you don’t need it right away I’d hold off till next month. With the 2018s gone, the 2019 MF should improve
Is there a “deadline” in which the dealers should have sold all 2018 models by?
Yes, 31December 2018.
Some manufacturers continue lease and incentive support for a few months afterwards. I’m sure each manufacturer is different and each year it’s different. Just depends what the happens on the market.
Lease supports ends this month
There’s no “deadline” per se, as in “you better have these cars sold by X, or you’re fired.” Once lease and finance support dries up for the old models, however, the dealer loses any factory incentives to help the deal look more attractive, and ultimately making the car more expensive to the buyer. They can still sell the car…it will just be harder to do so.
So, while there’s no mandated deadline to sell, dealers will be (in theory) motivated to move cars that are coming close to losing captive promotional support. Otherwise, they’ll have to dig deeper in their pockets to get rid of it when that time comes.
Excellent intel. Sounds like you could have your way with a dealer who has a 2018 on their lot…
Not necessarily. People think they’ll give the cars away, which isn’t necessarily the case.
