Negotiating a price on a ordered vehicle?

:+1:t5: Thanks I will definitely keep that in mind

These are the possible candidates (per LH reviews and feedback) for an offer besides CarMax.

:point_up_2: seen some really strong numbers for a 2020 Pilot EX-L. But your negative equity will be your biggest challenge… whatever you decide, good luck!

Thanks I will look into those

If you want something similar as the telluride the Palisade is an option and leases better than the telluride. Now if you want to save money then definitely a Honda Pilot is a better lease also a Mazda CX-9 could do the trick as well.

WIth 10k negative equity, I would suggest to do your best to live with the Fusion until you can pay it down further. I would really look hard at why you think you need a big 3 row for 2 kids. For normal every day living, the Fusion should do just fine hauling what you need. Especially now with COVID, I can’t imagine people taking many long trips where more storage space is needed.

Drive your car until you pay it off and then decide. We just got rid of X3, X5 and kept a Nissan Rogue. Not the best ride by any means and not even compared to luxury but it gets our family of 4 places we need to get to. Times are uncertain and although we can afford most cars out there I’ll wait 9 more months until the lease ends and re-valuate the situation. Like someone else posted get a Honda if you must or give your ford a wax job and pretend its a Kia for now.

You need a Stelvio. Otherwise, look at a cheaper SUV like Sorento, etc. I recently rented one and I was surprised how spacious that thing is from the inside

No way a stelvio is going to be under $650/mo with $10k in negative equity rolled in

CRV is actually very room in back, more legroom than a BMW X5 sadly.

Honda has a lease special on the lx Trim level on the odyssey for 320 something.

Thank you. I’ve said this a thousand times. I really don’t get it. People waste tens of thousands of dollars knee jerk buying 3 row SUV’s…put it in your kids college fund :man_shrugging:

If you want a large vehicle for the occasional beach trips, road trips with tons of stuff, hauling their little friends etc - IMO just buy a used minivan that’s already mostly depreciated. Taking our Ody to the beach in a minute :+1: Or just spend $50 to rent one if you actually need it…

Do whatever you want man this isn’t a personal finance forum, but if you don’t have at least $10k cash to pay off the negative equity and in a real good financial position I don’t get why you’d double down rolling that into what seems to be a luxury not a necessity. And then paying rent charge and tax on the $10k. If there’s nothing wrong with the fusion I’d keep it.

People for generations have raised kids in cars. I dont see why you NEED an SUV. Sure you want one, but surely not need one?

$10,000 in negative equity, if a bank will even approve a lease with that much negative equity rolled in, is going to add $277/month to your lease payment (before interest and tax) on a 36 month lease. To stay under $650/month comfortably, you need to be looking at $350/month or less inclusive of tax.

Maybe a base VW Tiguan would work for you if you can find one AND they’ll roll in that kind of negative equity. Understand, you would have to commit to keep it for the entire duration of the lease (no matter how much you may hate paying $650/month for a $27k base car) and make sure your lease includes gap.

As others have said, this is likely not a good financial decision. You’d be better off buying an old used Honda Odyssey as a third car for when you need the extra space and DDing the Fusion.

what they said about checking carvana and vroom, check a couple times offers may change. Not saying that rolling 10k equity is smart every one here agrees but make the the smartest bad decision you can make, if you have to make one.
