I live in Boston and have been emailing out offers for a Lexus RX350 to dealerships in the area as well as out of state. The MSRP is $50,195 and I’m looking to get it for 15-16% off for a sales price of between $42,000 and $42,500 not including incentives. I’m planning on leasing but am not telling any dealers that until the price has been negotiated. So far, every dealer has either not bothered to reply or scorned at my offer and has basically told me to have a nice day. The offers I sent were for around 17% off so I’d have some bargaining room. How low have others been able to get for the RX350? I know @Aaron was able to get 15.5% off (not including $500 lease incentive). Has anyone else gotten this good of a discount? If so, where? I’ve sent out offers to dealers in MA, NJ and DC. I’m looking for advice on the best way to go about negotiating because so far whatever I’m doing is not working! Thanks for your help!
Anyone?? Just looking for advice!
Look on ClubLexus to see what people there paid. They have a whole thread on it
I would agree that emails don’t seem to do the job in Boston. May work for others but I have never gotten a response or quote in email beyond the generic “would love to set up a test drive for you and discuss options”
It entirely depends on the dealer, I got a client 7k off an is300 awd with one email to a Boston Lexus Dealer
In this case, I shall look to becoming one of your customers in a year when my lease expires
Let’s just say they were motivated, as it was the last day of the month. They even kept the dealer open late and included flat bed delivery across MA! Sorry it was 7k got that wrong. When the client got there they even took another 400 off. Very Motivated to say the least
You just lost @vhooloo as a potential client. Well, he never was, really
I didn’t really want him as a client, he’d be one of the more challenging ones
Nope. I am easy going. I will ever tell you I can do better than you. Once I tell you the parameters of the deal, all I would say is yea or nay. I would not ask you to cross shop a porsche, bmw and mercedes and then say how come a 60k E300 is 400 but you are charging me 700 for a 65 k boxster.
See you in a year.
Close enough for me. Sounds like an exciting deal. Burning the midnight oil, mysterious 400 off, delivery …
Seemed like they were about to miss that quota
You will not hire a broker because you love the process too much
The process I love is the low monthly payment to drive a car I enjoy. How I get there is irrelevant (and often not fun ergo my 30 minute wait at the dead quiet Volvo dealer on a hot May day just to get someone to pull up the car)
Thanks @boardwalknj I had looked before and it didn’t seem like anyone was getting great deals. Or at least not as good as a couple I saw on here. I will check again.
Sounds like a good deal. Who was the dealer? I emailed all the Lexus dealers in MA and only a few replied. I think I got down to 12% off MSRP.
Ugh. I’m doing everything I can to avoid having to go into the dealership!
best deals happen at the dealership. period.
Then send someone like @nyclife to the dealership on your behalf!!! Thats what brokers are for
Im sorry I don’t GO to the dealership and never have (I am not travelling to MA lol). He has come to me, I can’t get an RX350 for 330 a month, the OP’s request.
