Mercedes S550 Sedan lease

Hackrs,

Initially, I was set on the Mercedes S550 coupe, however, I got a really interesting deal from a MB dealer on a 2016 S550 4Matic Sedan.
Nicely equipped with Driver’s Assistance Package, Sports Package and Premium 1 Package (MSRP of $117,610).
I was given a selling price of $91,476 and when we started talking he reduced the price to $89.999.

I opted for 24/10 lease and here are the details:

MSRP - $117,610
Selling Price - $89,999
Residual 59% ($69,389.90)
MF - .00126
South Carolina Taxes- capped at $300
Acquisition and other fees - $1414.75
Monthly payment-$1060
Total Due at Signing - $2774.75
Leasehackr score = 9.3 years

As we continued to discuss the vehicle, I asked if it had heads up display. He indicated that he would visually inspect and let me know.
He promptly called me back and stated that he was in the vehicle and it did not have HUD.
Furthermore, he indicated in the essence of “full transparency;” the vehicle has 2400 miles and asked if I wanted to proceed.

I did not indicate my intention, but I did ask him to send interior pictures of the car. He also stated the car was in gorgeous condition.

That said, I am still interested, however, I need to revisit the selling price (it’s a 2 year lease and I won’t be penalized by the mileage).

My initial thoughts are to ask for a 5k reduction of the selling price ($85,000).
Leasehackr score = 12.6 years

Revised numbers less the 5K are as follows:

Monthly payment = $845.

If I apply 6 MSDs, monthly payment = $775 (total due at signing =$6490)

Your suggestions/recommendations and evaluations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

MB has fleet discount, Check if AARP is accepted, if so you can get a reduction in MF. But 2400 miles, is that a demo car?

It appears as if it was an Executive Demo that was never titled.
I was told that the Fleet discount was not as robust as their discount and it was not stackable.
I will reduce the MF by putting up MSDs.

Thank you for your response

Great let us know how it goes.Autopay with MBF reduces payment $10/month…

Bulls…
Would you ask for anything different if it was you?

If you’re able to get that selling price it’s a great deal for a car that expensive. Definitely do MSDs - the money you save is a good, guaranteed return on having your money tied up for a couple years.

Thanks jables04!
I appreciate the feedback

I would def. lease if it hits the 800 mark. As demos are a hard sell to lease ( top end luxury ones ) , ask them to throw a Free maintenance Plan too for 2 years…

Bulls…Thanks for your feedback!
would you ask for the free maintenance on top of the 5k reduction too?

I test drove S550 but decided to lease a 750i…The MB dealer in NY has a similar demo model, he has thrown the maintenance with out me asking for it.
so def ask for it…

Great feedback Bulls!
Thanks!

120k car doesn’t have that HUD feature that you wanted?? GTFO!!

120k S-Class that doesn’t have a HUD? Doubt it… salesman is likely mistaken.

That’s exactly what you should shoot for

Thanks for your responses!
I agree that this vehicle should have HUD!
However, it’s a 2 year lease and in the end…it appears like a good deal.

so did u get the car?

I could do without hud for under 1k on an S550. Plenty around here without hud unless it’s around 125k car. Shame cuz hud is really only like $900.

No, I did not get the vehicle. I came back to them with the prospect of reducing the car another 5k and they balked. In fact they became somewhat rude?
I am in negotiation with another dealer and will put the terms up shortly for review.

@Yinzer…I could do without HUD, however, I have grown accustomed to this feature. To your point, a 6 figure car should have a 1k feature (it’s a safety feature that should be standard)

That deal is almost as good as it gets. 25% off msrp is amazing at this time of the year.
