Hi All - I’m contemplating switching from my 2023 EQS450+4matic to a 2024 S580e loaner. Waiting for it to come back from a customer who has it out at the moment. I will say I have enjoyed the EQS overall so far, but I’m a degenerate and like trying new cars and I love me a good deal, and have always wanted a true S-Class lol. The loaner is not heavily optioned like my EQS but a lot of standard equipment on the car and has the technology package. Black on black, standard 19" rims which i’m not crazy about but look fine. Curious if anyone has owned both or made the transition and curious of their experience thus far. I’ve heard great reviews so far so I was curious as to ppls experiences and differences they noticed between the two cars. Thanks!
Hey, have been thinking the same thing! Currently leasing an EQS580 (thanks leasehackr!), but had S580 before. Both fully loaded (140-150k msrp) as well as an S63 AMG before that.
In terms of total satisfaction, driving characteristics, comfort, and presence/attractiveness, here’s how I would rate them:
- S63 - all around best ever sedan I’ve ever owned. Just be prepared if it ever goes out of warranty!
- S580 - looks great, sumptuous interior, silent as a tomb, beautifully appointed, actually drives great for such a big car.
- EQS - ok, looks like a jellybean, but luxurious interior, but not as fun to drive as the ICE version S class.
Hope that helps! When my lease expires, I’ll be looking at the S580e as well. Keep us posted.
to me S feels like a proper S class overall whereas EQS like heavily optioned E class. Is it worth additional price - that’s up to you to decide. To me personally EQS is enough
