Lol yeah that white CLS at Carmax seems decent. It doesn’t have AMG Line though and the interior is definitely pensioner-spec beige. Maybe @djrabbi has some extra HRE’s lying around and a body kit. It’s a RWD spec, so the number of buyers will be less during the Winter.
Most people (not LH’ers) change cars every 3 to 4 years. So a car from 2014 would reasonably have 3 owners. I agree the true Affalterbach’s often get repo’ed or liquidated early due to repair costs. So they often have like 6 owners and 4 reported accidents in the same timeframe.
There’s a E550 Cabriolet in Ohio that has abnormally low 22k miles listing for $30k. Same pensioner-spec colors as that CLS lol. Mercedes V8, W212, has a volume knob, but isn’t an AMG. Bummer.
While the volume knob is tempting, I actually hate convertibles with a passion. (hardtop convertibles are an exception). Maybe @djrabbi can just buy a clean 63, then when he gets bored of it after a few weeks he can sell it to me for 50% off the original selling price. Will throw in a sbux gift card and some ABA subscription emails
Sounds like a SL550 hard top is right up your alley then. Listing $27k, 2 owners, well serviced, clean Carfax, no road salt, 55k miles, has a volume knob, and it’s the baller-ass red. Pensioner beige interior though.

There’s a 2008 SL55 much closer to you that seems to have a clean carfax. Another pensioner-spec beige interior. Mercedes sure sells a lot of these cars to rich old people who like beige.
They didn’t option the AIRSCARF though. Says 1 owner on the listing, but it’s clearly 2 owners (ignoring the current dealer who registered it in MT).
SL is out then… in that generation most people around 6’ 3" felt the car was too small or their head would touch the headliner.
