Understandable but I meant what happens specifically after the car sits there on the open market for some time and nobody else takes it? Is that still a taboo to sell to the original lessor?
Good point… don’t think that’s come up yet. Who’s gonna be first… ![]()
Since there is no dumping ground for Taycan stuff and the EQS is basically a Taycan if you squint hard enough…
My Taycan is now for sale! Someone will find a few dozen McDonald’s straws crammed in the door card. The bumper was also messed up and repaired; but somehow not on the Carfax. Sneaky.

The residual when it came off lease was $81,678. Listing for $71,999. Ouch.
Apparently A2 is brake fuild exchange, cabin air filters replacement, wiper blades, HV Battery inspection and Multi-point inspection. I checked my contract and it doesn’t say anything about free 2yr/20k maintenance even though it was a demo car when I leased it so check yours or call the service department at a dealership and they can check by VIN
Find a reasonable indy shop?
That’s what I’m considering. Just called the service department of my local dealership and apparently I had 1 service included but it expired on April 8th. Mind that I leased my car on May 7th and I got the service notification a couple of days ago so they couldn’t even make the expiration of the free service with the expiration of a 24 month lease. They quoted me $1300
Ask them to goodwill that service?
Will try, but car was leased somewhere else so not sure they will even consider me an active customer. Worst case, I have 16 days to enjoy the car and return it before service is due. ![]()
It wont be on the contract. Pretty sure all EQS come with the free 2yr maintenance from MB. The 1st real maintenance is actually at 20k. At 10k, it’s just a tire rotation.
That’s probably the in-service date when it was 1st used as a demo. I’d push for a good-will gesture or ask about any grace period for extending the free maintenance expiration date.
I knew that i will never hit 20k miles on my 2 year EQS lease so did my 20k miles service when on ODO was 16k miles. I wanted new wipers. LOL
Anyone is having mbux blackout/reset issue on their EQs? Mine blacked out twice very recently preceded by what sounded like a cannon blast coming from a rear left speaker. I literally ducked. The system did reset itself shortly though. The wonders of MBZ software!!! Looks like they’re aware of how junky it is replacing with a whole software in the new cars.
My EQS did that twice. My wife made me ground the car early since she already hated that car.
And the car doing that weird shotgun sound while shutting off the MBUX made her think it was unsafe to operate.
Definitely very rude and unceremonious without yelling “fore!” in advance.
Lol, it doesn’t help around that time the news was talking about Jasper Wu how the shooters that killed him on I-880 during a rolling gang ambush weren’t going to face murder charges.
Don’t need the car adding more anxiety. It’s supposed to be a Benz, not a Nissan.
My SA floated the idea of looking at a remaining EQS as an alternative to the EQE as there more of those left in the region with many of them sitting on lot for multiple months.
I know these cars depreciate horribly and the value will drop $30K the moment I drive off the lot and the depreciation will only continue afterwards. So I need to buy this right (or lease it right).
What should I am for in regards to a % discount off the price of the car?
I’ve looked for EQS’ to lease and there are basically none available… but to buy the 450+ you can get for around $40K while the 450 you’re looking at 45-50K (these are 2023 models) and get more expensive as the years go on.

CPO may be another route. I would never get this car without some kind of warranty. Even though had no issues
Agreed.. actually want to buy and would def get warranties lol
Grounding my eqs next week
, getting GLC utlizing LAP program and want to hear from others about their experience.
When you grounded early eqs or any other MB product, did you perform any lease end inspection? 20 months ago when i grounded my first eqs and got another one no inspection was performed ( at lesst i did not get any report). The car was listed couple days later at the discounted price on the same dealer website.
BTW my eqs has ZERO scratches and is almost in the same shape when i took it 20 months ago.
The only thing that i am worry about are the tires . I have non OEM all season set with ~7/32 left on all of them, great tires btw. Not sure if that will be acceptable?
